Looks like Alex Dickerson might be the Braves' 4th OFer. He's a good hitter with a lifetime 114 OPS+. It's a non-guaranteed contract, because he's been so injury-prone throughout his career. He had a great 2020 season but fell off last season. Strictly a corner OFer/DH.

Since we're trading buddies with the A's, and the A's seem to be going for a re-build, maybe the Braves next target will be Frankie Montas - a real good 29 year old righty starter with 2 cheap years left before he becomes a free agent. But I'd hate to give up more prospects.

Freddie is supposedly signing a 6 year deal for $236 million with Los Angeles.

Turns out, it was only $162 mil - a difference of $74 mil. I'm guessing the 236 was around what Freddie's agent's final offer to the Braves, and he was over-playing his hand - there just wasn't a huge demand for him - not a whole lot of teams had a need for an older 1st baseman wanting a 6 year contract.

Freddie and his agent messed up. Freddie didn't appear happy to me at his press conference. They used any leverage they could once Atlanta acquired Olson, by contacting Boston, and Boston, but he couldn't get anymore than what LA offered.
