Matt Olson is batting second for the Braves in their season opener Thursday night against the Reds.

Olson will be looking to make a splash in his Atlanta debut. The full Opening Day lineup for the host Braves, who are taking on Reds right-hander Tyler Mahle at Truist Park: Eddie Rosario RF, Matt Olson 1B, Austin Riley 3B, Marcell Ozuna LF, Ozzie Albies 2B, Adam Duvall CF, Travis d'Arnaud C, Alex Dickerson DH, Dansby Swanson SS. Max Fried is on the bump.

We're putting a lot on Ozuna - batting him cleanup. Hopefully he doesn't let us down. Of course, the real lineup starts when Acuna returns in May.

My guess is this got blown out of proportion because Acuna's not media savvy yet, and English isn't his first language. Great response by Freddie.

The Braves have tentatively targeted May 6 for the season debut of Ronald Acuña Jr. (knee).

 Acuña Jr. will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday and the plan is for him to be there for about two-and-a-half weeks before making his season debut with the big club. He'll be ready to play right field upon his return, but Acuña Jr. also figures to see some time in the designated hitter spot.

Braves won game 2 vs Dodgers last night 3-1, Fried 7 IP 2 H 0 R 0 ER 8Ks.


Dodgers win the series this afternoon, 5-1. Morton 5.1 IP 6 H 4 ER 3 BB 4K 2 HR. Freeman hit his 2nd HR of the series.
