Post#1 » by HMFFL » Tue Jun 12, 2007 2:55 pm

I just recently had a topic about Hunter as an option for us if AJ bolts.

Definitely wouldn't mind the swap if Andruw decides to leave. (or JS decides to allow him to leave)

I will take him if the price is right. Hopefully by next year Frenchie and McCann will be ready to be the middle of the order guys.

Just as a future note:

I hope JS gets zero blame for the departure of AJ, if it happens, because I don't believe Liberty Mutual has given him a clear answer about AJ yet. We will soon be able to tell if the AJ rumors heat up like they did last year.

I don't think highly about Liberty Mutual.

On Baseball | Centerfielders up for grabs

Don't hold your breath
First of all, the Braves probably won't trade free-agent-to-be Andruw Jones because they're in the race. And while Torii Hunter would pay his own way to Boston, that's not the case with Jones, who hates the cold and isn't so fond of our fair city. He told this reporter in spring training, "No, I don't want to play there." Later, I asked him to elaborate and he said, "I was only kidding. You never know." Jones would surely veto such a deal.

We are in the running? How come I feel that AJ will tell us we are in the running, then bolt at the very last second?

If we're in the running, why is Andruw smiling when he strikes out looking with two runners on and two outs in the eighth against Cleveland?

Oh yeah, we were down three at the time.
