Seems like we get a little positive momentum then it just peters out. Think we need some kind of shot in the arm...Baez?

what do you guys think of the benching of olt and the reduced playing time he's gotten? should he be sent down to the minors to work it out? just play him everyday until he breaks out of it?

and veras got cut, so there's that - nice they got out of that potential marmol situation early

I think the sporadic playing time got him out of the rhythm he seemed to have coming out of Spring Training (some of that might be better pitching of course) but I think he should go down to the minors and play every day.

Wow. Veras might have had the quickest implosion I can remember on the Cubs. At least Marmol you could say he was a very good set up man at one point. I think some guys don't have the mental make up to close despite obvious talent. LaTroy Hawkins good set up man/bad closer in MN, bad closer with Cubs, then longer career then expected as a journeyman set up guy who was reasonably effective.
