Didn't think I'd be considering .500 a good thing at any point this season.

Talk me off the ledge on Darvish. Loved Arietta , only Cubs jersey I ever bought, and seems like we did the Schiraldi of getting a guy with talent off a monumental collapse to replace,

I've got nothing to talk up Darvish with. He is giving HRs at a career high rate and that is the problem. The last three years have been bad compared to what he was. However, how about if we go with we don't need him to be anything more than a decent 5th starter. Lester, Hendricks, Hamels and Quintana can handle the playoffs.

Sweep the cards. Take the division lead. Best run differential in MLB. That slow start seems so long ago now.

bryzzo heating up is very good. about the only issue right now is darvish and there isn't much that can be done about him (maybe the bullpen?)

so addison's suspension is done but he's down in triple a? there really isn't room for him right now is there?

I think there is going to be a trade at some point in the near future of a position player. I think Schwarber gets moved, although I thought that should have happened years ago instead of Gleybor or Eloy. They can slide Bryant to LF and Bote to 3B with Addy and Javy up the middle. Bote and Schwarber are the same age and Addy is younger than they are so age shouldn't be a factor. I'm still a bit disgruntled that Schwarber wasn't traded before Gleybor and Eloy and that Gleybor was given up for a rental.

I understand why Theo did what he did, but I thought giving up Gleybor in the deal for Chapman was the wrong move. I said it at the time, but even at that time I understood it. I can't be too critical because of how that season ended, but I thought there were better paths to that same result. There were other bullpen arms they could have gotten without giving up Gleybor and they probably could have gotten Chapman with a different package while keeping Schwarber, Gleybor and Eloy at the time since NYY and Chapman had a handshake agreement that he would go back. It is always a struggle to have enough pitching and hopefully Morrow gets healthy and the bullpen ends up looking really good by the end of the year.

Darvish finally has a very good outing and the bullpen blows it. 11ks, 0BB and 2ER in 5.1 and then the bullpen gives up four runs!
