Cubs @ Phillies [05/11/07] Game Thread (Game 33 of 162)
Stop making losing game threads, sheesh!
THE GOODS
WHERE: Philadelphia, PA (Citizens Bank Ballpark)
WHEN: 7:05PM EST (6:05PM for you lousy CST'ers)
TV: CSN+
Bad weather is in the area unfortunately...75 degrees, but isolated thunderstorms are expected from 1pm-9pm EST. Game will likely get completed tonight, but don't be surprised if rain delays it at least once.
Outstanding pitching match-up between two young studs:
4-1, 1.73
Rich Hill
4-1, 3.59
Cole Hamels
Players to watch:
Aramis Ramirez looks to continue with his hot start (.270BA, 7HR, 19RBI) in Philadelphia, where he is a career .314 hitter. Last year, he hit .433 (13-for-30) with three home runs.
Ryan Howard had has started off slower than some would like (.204BA, 6HR, 23RBI), but had a pinch hit grand slam in their last game against Arizona, so he figures to be riding a wave of confidence into this series.
Streaks to keep alive:
Derrek Lee has hit safely in 17 consecutive games and reached base safely in all 32 games this season.
Alfonso Soriano has a career-high 18-game hitting streak and has reached base safely in all 26 games he's played.
2poor is looking to get his game threads record (1-2) back to .500 as well as have back-to-back-to-back game threads.
Make it happen Cubbies!

SHORT HOPS: Piniella said his alternating use of Ryan Theriot and Cesar Izturis at shortstop is not so much a platoon as it is a way to keep the hot-hitting Theriot in the lineup. Theriot, who's batting .367 during the last four weeks, has started 11 of the Cubs' last 12 games at short or second base. ''He's earned it,'' Piniella said.

Indeed.
In his career, Hill has kept Philly slugger Ryan Howard in check (he's 0-for-3). But Jimmy Rollins is 2-for-3, including a home run and a double.

Core 2 Duo 6300 1.86GHz with a gig of RAM running Windows Vista. Should look fabulous on my 19 inch WS LCD monitor.
Wow that sounds nice.
Not sure why a Cubs/Phillies game got put on Comcast SportsNet+ while they are letting a Sox/Royals came be seen on regular Comcast.
Doesn't make much sense.
