Will Hunter Bolt For Texas, Chicago Or St. Louis?

Seriously do we need ANOTHER outfielder.
The Boston Globe - Minnesota Twins' star Torii Hunter may want to join the Red Sox and play with Big Papi, Jacoby Ellsbury is in the picture which makes it less than likely.

And Hunter may very well return to the Twins. The team picked up his $12 million option which surprised the baseball world and could be a good indicator that the team intends to make every effort to retain the Gold Glove center fielder.

Nonetheless, Hunter will have no shortage of suitors when he becomes a free agent this off-season.

Since Hunter lives in Texas, the Rangers and Astros should be in the mix. The Cubs, White Sox, and Cardinals are also possible destinations.

Doesn't make much sense to invest in Hunter with Pie a year or so away from everday play.

I am thinking this may mean that we may be looking to get rid of one of our outfielders. Possibly Jones.

Jones will be gone by this trading deadline.

No chance he's on this team in '08.

Ehhhh, sounds nice, doesn't make sense.

All things aside, he's going to demand a pretty hefty paycheck, and I think the Cubs are about done on writing big checks to players not already on their roster.

I hope not.

But I don't want Hunter.

Return to Chicago Cubs
