Warriors should trade Curry , while he still has a great value

Post#1 » by Luke » Thu Apr 18, 2024 12:02 am

They should rebuild around their young players , who are very talented.

Now they could still get a haul for Steph, but it's the last time.

I understand if they don't want to do it, but it would be the best decision for their future...

Nah you keep Curry til he retires. For what he’s done for that franchise, any kind of trade isn’t worth it IMO. Unless he wants to leave, roll with him.

What are they gonna do? Trade him for someone who isn’t going to win them a ring in the next couple years?

I think teams like to have their superstars to play their entire careers with their team if at all possible. Of course he should be traded if the aim is to rebuild as quickly as possible. Curry would command multiple 1st round picks and players. But they won't and I can't really blame them. There's something special about guys spending their whole careers in one place. It's kinda sad when you see guys eeek out an extra year or two playing in a different uniform

If Steph wants out they may honor it.

If Steph wants to stay he stays.

Klay on the other hand I think he's gone either way.

Trade him to Okc, he would fit well right between Shai and JDub. Then he can win a couple more championships.

The Hornets would be interesting, assuming they can keep some of their young players. Curry next to LaMelo, Miller & Mark Williams would be must watch TV & very dangerous.

You don't trade franchise legends like that. As long as Curry doesn't go full Kobe and try to turn his last few years into a circus then you keep him.

Curry is still helping Lacob pay for the Chase Center. He isn't going anywhere unless he demands a trade.

GS can still shoot with any team. I can't for the life of me figure out why they won't just get a real C or any size whatsoever.

If someone were to travel back in time from the future and say that you could trade Curry now and compete for a championship as soon as 10 years OR keep him and not compete for another 20, what do you do?

They should buyout Curry so he can join a contender of his choice as a lifetime service award.

That's too much appeasing to Curry and not enough to their fans. You have to show them they're getting something worthwhile back for the future. Fans are probably not going to want to see him go.

If anything, Curry is fighting to keep the core together, probably to the detriment of his ability to realistically compete for championships going forward.

I tried that in the trade machine and I don’t think it’s possible without including SGA. Too many rookie contracts.
