Treanor traded for Ray Olmedo
Glad to hear this. I preferred Kottaras between the two.

I agree.
It was also apparent we were only going to keep one so good to see we at least got something from it. Even if it doesn't amount to anything.

I was worried that they were going to take the bad hitting, mediocre fielding older catcher over the decent hitting, mediocre fielding younger catcher.
Good move. I had no idea Ray Olmedo was only 29. Seems a lot older than that.

Olmedo was looking like a Gwynn Jr. clone for a few years in the minors but has regressed since (if possible). He did pitch 2 innings for Durham last year, gave up 2 runs one earned two hits, and got the win!

Re: Treanor traded for Ray Olmedo
does this move squash the mike lowell rumors ? or was this another case of melvin acquiring a guy with the sole purpose of filling a need for his AAA team? he had said in a couple of his earlier acquisitions that the move was made in order to allow regular progression of brewers prospects. this appears like another one of those moves. AAA needed a utility infielder.
