Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

As long as they are maturing, playing, getting better, I dont really care if there is a season.

I think that is an advantage of going for players who have a good work ethic, they should be able to continue their development in less than ideal situations. Seraphin seems like he has a good work ethic. I don't know if Ted is one of the hard-line owners, but looking at some of the moves it looks like he expected a disrupted or canceled season.

And timing is everything. It is good that we are in a rebuilding process and have so many young players. It is not like this team is assembled all the way and missing a year at a deep playoff run.
Since most of our player are still in heavy development, it doesn't matter as much where they develop.
Having an opportunity to learn in different environments could even be a benefit. McGee needs some aging either way. That is true of pretty much all of them short of Nick who was just coming into this prime. And the time off isn't going to hurt Lewis who needed to give his knees a break.
This is pretty much perfect timing for the Wizards if they stay on a lock out or have a short season mostly because they are just so young. By the time they return, we could see a vastly more mature team. Still young but not so wet behind the ears.
I would expect McGee may be the one that looks the most different as he fills into his body.
Now if Dray and transform his body during this time off, that would be awesome.

long tourney. He'll get his shot. Even if he only plays limited minutes it will be a good experience for him -- being around pros like Noah, Parker, etc.

Re: Kevin Seraphin
The german coach put Pleiss on the floor when Seraphin was in because they know each other very well but Kevin outplayed Tibor easily. So far, Kevin has been great for the french team. He brings that toughness in the paint and I have to say that he is more talented than Noah offensively. Jooks is trying too much to create his own shot or move but he can't secure the ball when he is backing down players. Kevin is way way better because he acts quickly, strongly and has better hands.
I think he could have played more in this game but Kaman was benched in the fourth quarter so the french coach let Noah on the floor.
Today they're facing Italy and I'm not sure if Kevin will get some burn because italians are weak at center spot (Bargnani is basically their center...). He has more chances to play tomorrow vs Serbia, especially if France wins today's game.

Re: Kevin Seraphin
He played 5 minutes in first half to defend on Bargnani and Gallinari...not the type of player Kevin can guard efficiently. This italian team shoots 3's and that's it. No paint presence at all. Tomorrow will be interesting to see where he is at because he'll play. Serbians centers are tall, long and talented, we'll need Kevin in the mix.

Re: Kevin Seraphin
Impressive game against one of the best team in the tournament, Serbia. He played C behind Noah.
17m, 11pts, 4/7 and 3/3. 4rbds and 2bloks.
When he plays, his teamates try to find him because of his offense and his physical presence. Some pretty nice move. Try to find the game, it's amazing basketball. Very effective from the bench.

Watching now, I'd forgotten how-bad Noah is offensively, his game does not translate well in the Euro setting.
