World Series 2011
Kind of surprised not to see a thread here, albeit as a Cardinals fan I should have checked a long time ago. I presume you're all watching this thing... **** game 2 probably cost us the series, hope it didn't.

Yeah, should have just accepted that the Cardinals were preordained. From Game 6 I felt good.
WOO!

Re: World Series 2011
The Cards have now won three championships when I was old enough to appreciate them.
1982: I was a college student in St. Louis and had a blast.
2006: Broke a long string of postseason disappointments--the Cards lost in the postseason in 1985, 1987, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, and 2005, and it was beginning to get a little discouraging. Game 7 against the Mets was pure euphoria.
2011: The most exciting of the three in terms of what happened on the field. Two epic wins (NLDS Game 5 and WS Game 6) plus an epic individual performance (the Pujols three home run game). Throw in the whole Zombie-Cardinals-refusing-to-stay-dead thing, and it's been unbelievable.

I'm a baby compared to you! Just the most recent two for me.
Pujols will be back for sure, he just wants leverage. Give the man his payday and all that.
Envy you, Slava. Sounds amazing.
What an incredible run.
