Jeremy Lin considering to play for China in FIBA tournaments

Post#1 » by darthkiller » Thu Feb 9, 2012 6:26 am

"In a video interview with CCTV-5 during the 2011 FIBA Asia Championship, Jeremy Lin said he would be open to considering playing in the Chinese Basketball Association and playing for the People's Republic of China but will make the decision when the time comes."

hmm, would you cheer for him if USA plays China in olympics and Jeremy Lin is on the chinese team?

If he does, he'll be a lock for the ASG every year til he retires. That is if doesnt fall off, he'd be a huge draw, mini Yao

Lin's not going to play for PRC in the Olympics. Of course he's going to say he's "open to considering" when being interviewed by state-run Chinese television while in China. He's not stupid.

Go look up his other interviews where he said that in order to play for PRC, he has to relinquish his USA citizenship, which obviously he is not going to do.

they need it. china is notorious for having some of the worst guardplay in the world, which is a shame because they had a good big man in yao and could have been at least respectable if 1) they had good backcourt playmaking and 2) yi jian lian actually gave a damn and showed up to win

True. That was just a courteous answer then. But once Lin became a real star in the NBA, China might bend over and change their immigration laws for Lin. :D

The guy is not gonna play. Taiwan and China are on his nuts trying to claim him as their own because of his roots. but culturally the guy is and will always be American

Him repping China in a world tournament is like STAT ditching the US to rep Israel
