I'll start a poll in the OP.
Edit: Too many options, just quote the nominations post and increment the counter, based on your vote.

I have a nomination. This book was recommended to me by a customer actually, he gave me his copy and i've only read about the first 10-15 pages or so, the book isn't more than about 200 pages I was just so busy with school it seemed easy not to read haha so my nomination is
Ayn Rand - Anthem
Inferno/Purgatorio/Paradiso (The Divine Comedy) - Dante Alighieri

My time's too tight right now to participate... But if I could suggest a book, for you all, how about Demian by Hesse... It's a great philosophical text with a plot.
I'd also suggest that the Divine Comedies or other such classics, might be a little difficult because the story/reading experience is heavily influenced by the version/translation. Some of them are just not that fun to read... I just reread them all and suffered through a horrible version.

tell me about it, in high school our english teacher thought it'd be good to at least read the first 40 cantos of inferno. the problem my dumb ass lost the printed copy of the 40 cantos so i just jumped online searching for something and found previews of the early cantos and to my surprise they read different and in some portions are really different in interpretation.
apparently some things are still hotly debated, pretty cool for a book from 15th century Florence.

can't say i read enough to dislike particular authors but you got your opinion set in pretty well. The book is a light read and offers some cool food for thought, but eh you don't give a **** so i just let it collect dust like a poor stratocaster i know
