Would he really be opposed to coming here?

Yeah but it would be Boston trading him anyway.

I could see them doing it for Brooks, Humphries, and picks.

But only if they are out of the playoff picture.

Well, if Boston continues their poor play, and it looks like their dreams of contending are over, and they're at most a first round exit for now and for the foreseeable future, KG might not like that too much. I think he's too loyal to outright ask out, but I think Boston would seriously think about rebuilding, which means they'd be interested in trading KG. In fact, they might even prefer it.

So at that point, if they sit down with KG and tell him that they would like to trade him because they want to rebuild, he gets to decide where he gets traded. I think there's a possibility he asks to be traded here, because I think with KG, we're a legit contender. And he's already said some really positive things about our team, so you know he likes what's going on over here.

And if Boston wants to rebuild, I think Humphries becomes an attractive trade piece, because by the time he expires, there are a lot of big name free agents available, which they would be able to pursue. They might like Marshon Brooks, who they originally drafted anyway, and he played college ball in the area (Providence). And a couple of 1st rounders are obviously important for a rebuilding team. I'd personally trade anyone they ask for outside of Deron and Lopez. They won't ask for JJ or Wallace, either.

Not really. It's complete rubbish that he didn't want out of Minnesota.

if gay is on the block how do you feel trading for him? Like wallace and hump (or something along those lines), but I doubt they would do that. Gay wouldnt really solve any of our problems though

He was there for 12 years with garbage teammates and terrible management, before he asked out. And when he asked out, he didn't make a spectacle out of it...he played his last season out, then asked during the summer in private.

Don't put any first round picks into trades, because I'm not even sure the Nets can trade their pick until 2015.

The Hawks have a right to swap picks for 2014 and 2015. You can't trade the picks until that option vests. The only picks the Nets have to trade are 2013, 2016, and 2017, but with cap space in 2016 and 2017, perhaps, it wouldn't be wise to trade those, leaving only 2013 available.

Yeah, I didn't know about that either until about five minutes before I wrote that "don't trade picks" message.

Is RealGM correct though? They've had stuff like this wrong in the past.

If true, is there any protection?

The way it reads is the Hawks have a pick swap option in 2014 but they can delay until 15 if they like.

OMG, if true the trade gets worse...

For Joe Johnson, the guy who the Hawks should have had to include one if not 2 1sts with medium to light protection on just to dump for expirings, this fool has shipped a pick and included a pick swap option, which they can delay...

Could you imagine if we have a lotto season in 2014 cause of unspeakable injuries?! Like a top 8 type pick and Atlanta is around 19th?

Wow, Billy King is the gift that keeps on giving.

I really hate this team.

How is there no one proofreading his deals before they're signed off on?

The incompetence is staggering...

I hope it's wrong, because if not, jesus, good thing I have UNLV until King truly is fired.

That is amazing if true and it's too specific to be made up, so if wrong there are only two explanations:

1. It was actually 2nd rounders. But I believe we have dealt those 2 2rounders so that would be a no.

2. It's from another trade for another team and got mixed up. So unlikely it's funny to suggest.

To wrap things up... flying sharks.

Oh snap, or the obvious typo... It's our option to swap with them.

That would make too much sense though!

Search your feelings, son, do you really believe that this will actually benefit us like that? Search your feelings, you know it to be untrue.
