Kyrie Irving or Damian Lillard?

Post#1 » by kd35sneighbor » Tue Oct 23, 2012 9:49 am

Damian kind of reminds me of Kyrie.

Who ya guys got if you've got to gamble on who is going to be better?

Kyrie Irving pretty confidently. Lillard looks great but I don't see him being a top point guard the way Irving could/already is. Although I risk him proving me horribly wrong like everyone thought of Brandon Roy.

Lets wait until Lillard does something in a game that actually matters first shall we?

Bingo. Lillard looks good, but Irving has proven he can play with the big boys. I know you mentioned taking a gamble, but the Lillard hype is just that until he proves himself with the big boys. Let's not get ahead of ourselves yet.

This is Irving by a comfortable margin. Much better feel for the game at a much younger age. Better handles and court vision, better all around scoring game, just as good if not better as a shooter.

Lillard's playing well, but Irving's the safe bet. I say Lillard's got a good shot though. I mean he only had 2 TO on 7 assists last night. 6TO on 11AST in his first game isn't great, but it still beats out Kyrie's 5.4/3.1 AST/TO ratio. Lillard's got a great feel for the game, and it'll be really interesting to see how well he does over the course of the year. I think that assist to turnover ratio is a great indication of how his feel for the game though.

Lillard will never be HALF as good as Kyrie will be.

Lillard looking GREAT so far. Obviously, that doesn't put him at Kyrie's level but still damn impressive.

It helps that Lillard has Batum and Aldridge, but my not-so-bold prediction for the year is that Lillard ends with a higher assist average on the year, and though it would speak volumes about his game, it wouldn't surprise me if he has a better AST/TO ratio either.

Lillard has one of the best starts to a career ever and as someone who was high on him in the draft he's slightly exceeding my expectations. But Kyrie is already a 20 point scorer and a good playmaker. He gets buckets.
