Opinions on Bogdan Bogdanovic

Post#1 » by MotownMadness » Sat Jun 7, 2014 2:58 pm

Pistons have pick 38 and im hoping hes there when they select. Ive only seen a few highlight videos of him but are there any international fans who could give me theyre opinions on the kid? From the videos on you tube he seems like he has some serious potential but how do you think he will translate over to the NBA?

If he is there at 38 than you should take it probably because he would be BPA, he does have serious potential but mostly as a shooter which can spread the floor, play defense and do some playmaking if necessary.

I watched this guy play once. He looked like the prototypical NBA SG in the ABA. I dunno if he's fast enough on offense to be that good in the NBA, but he's got all the moves.

I think one of the reasons he has a high upside is his slashing is underrated. To me there are a limited amount of wings in this draft who are capable of drives like this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... Tjbk&t=193

The first 2 drives played here, are likewise ones where he's driving in situations I feel a lot of wings would not be able to burst enough to do

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... NJQM&t=500

I've tried watching as many Bogdanovic drives as I can and he keeps making plays where he gets behind the teeth of the defense without picks, in a way that makes me believe it'll translate

He's not even that good of a shooting prospect, but it may not matter if he's no better outside shooter than guys like TP and Dragic if he can drive at a plus level in addition to his fluidity, length, lateral movement and passing (And he still projects as a good 3pt shooter, although his midrange, FT and streakiness are shaky indicators, it's hard to fake 37% 3pt on 5.9 attempts/game in Euroleague over 30 game sample. FIBA 3pt line is about halfway between NBA and NCAA I believe.)

Why people say he has a high upside, dude is almost 23 years old what are you talking about?

That said, he improved so much this year, but imo his ceiling in the nba is Marco Belinelli but most likely will disappear/won't ever get minutes like Nando De Colo or Nemanja Nedovic.

I think his teammate Davis Bertans will do much better in the Spurs next year if they decide to sign him. 6.10 6.11 guy who can shoot lights out.

What are you talking about he's not even 22 yet. Kukoc and Petrovic came to the NBA when they were 25 years old.

No relation whatsoever. Bojan is Croatian, Bogdan is Serb.

Been a fan. Would be happy if Spurs grab him. We may see Bertans next season if ACL is okay. Bog could follow Manu around for a season and learn the ropes.

I think he's at least a better Evan Fournier. Did a bang up job running point.

He is a decent candidate for a stash pick in the 2nd round, probably past 40.

He can shoot and pass, but honestly i think he is too slow to play SG in the NBA and his defense may not translate. You have to take into account that he plays for a coach that can make players look better than they really are in his weird system, with recent examples like Vesely and Tepic.
