"...after the devastating loss in Game 6 to the Boston Celtics, Ron Artest came in our locker and walked in the shower with Kobe Bryant. Kobe’s there taking a shower—and this is a locker room the coaches have, it’s off limits—so, Ron said, ‘Coach, I can help your team, I can get that championship for the Lakers.’
Fast forward to Game 7. Curry is alone in the shower, reflecting on a devastating finals loss to Lebron and the Cavs. His team is demoralized and will have to face a full power Cleveland for years to come. How will they recover? Like a genie arising from a magic lamp, Durant comes out from the steam, walks up to Curry and says, "I can help your team, I can get that championship back for the Warriors."
With KD added to Golden State, they will have championships locked up for the next five years, baring major injuries. This is only possible however, if they lose the finals. It is taboo and a major negative impact on KD's legacy if he joins a team coming off back to back rings. He would never do it. But if they fall, he can step in and be the Batman to Curry's Superman, the 1A to his 1B or vis versa. Any finals they win will be because of Durant, for they were unable to beat a healthy Cavs team without him.
Should the Warriors lose the finals on purpose? Durant will never step into that shower unless they do.
