Head coaches to lure top free agents

Post#1 » by HotShots » Sun Feb 7, 2010 4:18 pm

I think we should go after Phil Jackson. We need to get a top name head coach to lure the Lebron, Wade or Bosh. A guy who knows how to win..10 rings Mikhail can overpay for him...5 years 60mil. That would be tough for Phil to refuse. It has to be high offer for him to want to coach the Nets and it cant be a 2 year deal. I want him here for the long haul. This will entice the big free agents to sign with us.

We definately need to establish a top head coach before we go after the top free agents. If we dont have a coach by June's draft, we are going to be in trouble. No way Lebron, Wade or Bosh signs with us. The only way I see it happening is if we have Phil Jackson signed. The top free agents will come, if they are willing to leave their current teams. The Nets would be the #1 CHOICE for all free agents with Phil as the coach.

Head coach should be the #1 proirity and then we'll look into free agents.

The Nets should get Red Auerbach to be the next coach (hey, just as realistic as Phil coming here) :D

Money talks.....

"People are cutting costs all around the league and coaches are obviously going to take a cut too so they may not even want to hire me," Jackson said. "They may want to save some money."

Asked if he would take a pay cut, Jackson said, "Would you?"

Lakers are living in interesting, if uncertain, times

Just pray that you guys don't hire Randy Wittman.

I wouldn't mind George Karl.
I would love if we could somehow convince Rudy Tomjanovich to come out of retirement.
