I have to guess his chances at shooting consistently are slim to none largely because he is left handed and shoots right. Big problem. Maybe there are things behind the scenes, changes being made, but why he was bad in college is evident.

I've been remarking on his ambidexterity and a lot of that was based on him shooting right, but getting more blocks left. This is a strange and interesting factoid assuming it's correct. I don't see why him shooting right is a problem if that's the way he's always done it.

It is correct. Just watch him around the rim it is all kinds of messed up confusion. Moreover I saw the splits for right and left finishing and he is profoundly better with his left backing up the eye test, seeing something is off fundamentally.

It is a problem because he needs to hit his shots, it is not working for him. Lots of work needed.

I can tell how messed up and confused he is around the rim, by his 70% FGs from 2. I don't have his at the rim%, but that might be 80.

Again he struggles with his right (if you watch it is often some left/right unnatural hybrid), but he doesn't struggle with his left. He is clearly a lefty. We need to do a ton of work with him to improve his offense. And our success in getting him to use the proper hand will be the likely key determinate.

I'm perfectly OK with his 70% from 2 and maybe 80% at the rim. If he can get even better awesome.

His poor fundamentals might cause him to struggle some at the rim, but more importantly he will never expand his game and range or be as good at FTs as he could be and this limits his helpfulness. These are reasonable concerns and criticisms you don't need to defend him against them unless you're his mom.

I don't need to be his mom to defend him shooting such a high % from 2. No defense of that needed. It almost seems like he disrespected yo mama or something the way you think he needs any defending. He's certainly not perfect, but his shooting percent from 2 is not something to be considered a weakness.

Minnesota had two major gaps on its roster last year:
1. Someone 6-foot-5 to 6-8 who can fly around on D and switch coverage (only guys on roster were Bolmaro, Prince and Layman).
2. Someone over 230 lbs (only guys were Towns, Reid, Knight and later Monroe).

Both gaps addressed on draft night.

I do think that's a reasonable criticism but I wouldn't bet against him being a better shooter. His Auburn coach as well as his father are convinced he has big upside there. I'm inclined to believe them.

That leads me to our staff. Connelly should hire the best shooting coach in the business. Like the guy from SA who taught Kawhi Leonard. Make him an offer he can't refuse.

Or fitness coach and shooting coach of Kevin Love. Just not try push ups on knuckles

I think some of the fitness stuff is overstated.

He is 14% body fat, you generally have a 6-pack (not a great one) at 15%. He can stand to probably trim some of the hardest lbs to lose and add some mass, but we are not talking about a tub of lard. You would both hope and expect improvement.

Fun fact: both Wendell Moore Jr. and Kessler recorded triple double, both have defensive awards.

These poor fundamentals led him to shoot only 94% as the roll man in pick and rolls. I see all the cause for concern.

He can't shoot, you know that and why you are attempting to conflate things. It doesn't work and only advertises bias. It is classic doubling down on being wrong. I strongly suspect you at the very least subconsciously are having buyers remorse.

I'm talking about his at the rim numbers. You brought them up and somehow thought they were a weakness. Here are your exact words. His poor fundamentals might cause him to struggle some at the rim. Don't misrepresent my stance. It indicates you want to debate in bad faith.

I'm having a little fun at your expense.
Jump shooting = weakness.
Rim shooting = Huge strength.

You are desperate to make a negative out of this huge strength. I have no clue why. He shot 70% from 2 overall. He shot higher than that at the rim but so far I haven't found the exact number. He shot 94% as the finisher on pick and rolls. 94%!!!! I don't care if he's shooting them with his dick. They're going in the basket.

I have you on ignore, but I wanted to look at what you had to say about Kessler so I opened up your comments here. Big mistake.

DESPERATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His Rim shooting is an absolutely proven HUGE STRENGTH. Whether he was shooting them with his right hand, left hand or dick they were going in. Most of the time he was 2 handed dunking. I'm done opening your comments. Say whatever else you want.

I have pointed out a huge weakness, if your response is 'no, no, no', to ignore it and double down, perhaps you're the desperate one and projecting. Either way I can let others judge your posts, if it is obvious to me it probably is to others.
