Butler asks out of Chicago when they prioritized youth over winning.
Butler forced his way out of Minnesota when the owner prioritized youth over winning.
Butler got out of Philly when they prioritized youth over winning all season till it was win and go home and they put Simmons in the dunkers spot and gave Butler the ball only to lose to the eventual champs with that last Kawhi shot that kept bouncing till it went in.
Now.. in Miami, Butler in 3 years has gotten Miami team that was going NOWHERE to the finals and to game 7 of the ECF and once again it seems ownership is prioritizing youth(Herro) over winning with Butler. Oh, it could be fantastic in Miami this summer or next season especially with him still having issues with not making the finals this year and watching Robinson and Herro get paid and basically given all the chances they can to succeed.
The issue, I think the mainstream media would be on Butler's side this time. Oh, it could be a very bad offseason for Miami.
The organization has made moves to win but it hasn't worked out. We traded Winslow + some stuff for Crowder, got Iggy and made the run in the bubble.
Miami traded an injured Winslow, and players they overpaid and wouldn't use in Johnson and Waiters, it was a **** trade and refused to give Gallinari an extension (because of Giannis watch) which is why they ended up with Crowder.
The year after FO took a gamble on Giannis and it didn't work out.
Right, they passed on CP3 because his 3rd year went into that 2021 summer. How bad of a risk was it to think Giannis would leave the summer of his max extension, at worse he'd leave the year after, what a bad move by Miami's FO which I mentioned before it even happened.
Year after that, traded Precious for Lowry (Butlers's BFF) & got PJ in FA, Lowry, Herro, Bam disappointed in playoffs.
Yes, Miami traded a 35 year old PG who was Butler's BF in Miami and Precious who was Bam's backup for 34 year old Lowry. Not really a great move. Precious is a solid player but Miami utilized it's only 1st round pick for 2 years on Bam's backup and then found out a legit sized vet was good enough.
We have moved young player for vets. Just because we haven't gotten over the hill doesn't mean they are not trying. Your issue is with Herro but he's not alone in why we didn't beat the Celts.
Not just Herro but Vincent also who they didn't want a vet min Dragic to take any of his minutes. The point is Miami has had assets to strengthen the roster for a championship run and haven't.
The overall issue is the Heats trades & FA signings stratergy makes it hard to be a contender for several years. The best way to contend over a couple years is to draft a franchise player and 2nd star, and then you can easily build a contender around that.
Not draft... acquire, you know like you did with Butler, Lebron and Bosh. Miami acquired Butler who has helped carry this team to the ECF 2 out of 3 years and to the finals once of those 3 years missing a 2nd time by a few points. Instead of going for it, Miami is clearing out quality players to stay under the tax and give Herro and Vincent... and even Robinson(they pushed Strus back till the starters spoke up) no real competition to keep their roles to get their minutes/stats. I see this as NO DIFFERNT situation as it's been for Butler in Chicago, Minnesota and Philly, ownership is looking at potential vs winning championships. Hopefully Miami can cash out Butler for some assets and you can move to the Miami Bam and Herro era.
