You know what'd be great...if people would be able to change their minds with new information.
Basketball being the least important example.
But there is no new informations. it's just your ( not yours, i'm generalizing) team picking guy you didn't want, assuming they won't take him, being replaced for guy you wanted, because you thought they will take him.
And for majority of people that's enough to go 180 on opinions about players.
And it comes back to logical opinion: do people here think XY player is better prospect than he was yesterday by just putting jersey of YX team?
it seems that it's all it takes to change opinion, not with new information, at least not with valuable new information, rather personal bias.
It's definitely possible that you don't know jack s**t about me or my decision-making process.
I've included in many threads my explanation that I wanted Jabari because we desperately need shooting after many years of desperately needing shooting. Jabari fit our roster, would drop right in and make all of our incomplete non-shooting players look better. After selecting Banchero, I looked harder and realized that Jabari was the easy, lazy, safe, convenient pick and that drafting Paolo was the biggest upside move but would require other changes. (I should add that I never slammed Banchero and even suggested that, wherever he got picked - he was the likely ROY). I now believe that Banchero WILL be the best player taken, possibly by a mile, but not if the team isn't somewhat restructured to support his elite talents. Many here, including you, labeled Jabari as good, but limited...I'm generally risk-averse in business, so part of my original desire for Jabari was the very very high floor. Basketball is entertainment and nothing more, so when the FO showed more balls and vision than I did, I came around. Do you forgive me for reconsidering the situation? I'm one of those dumb fans who actually consider that NBA lifers MIGHT know a little more than me...I can't casually dismiss Vuc being twice selected to the All-Star team by actual NBA coaches, and I can't casually dismiss Marcus Smart when he was just voted DPOY...I disagree with plenty but I consider other viewpoints too. Maybe try it.
For start, my reply wasn't personal.
It's possible i don't know anything about your decision making process but you implied opinons should change based on new informations. There haven't been any new informations so your opinion is changed based on "new information" but not about players, but about teams who get them.
Witch sounds like bias, because it is bias.
Paolo Banchero was viewed as 3rd prospect in Chet- Jabari- Banchero tercet because there is lot of question marks and red flags that he brings, moreso than Chet or Jabari.
I pretty much always pointed out that to me Jabari is good pick... for team with elite center. Witch, Magic don't have, so it made no sense to me. In same sense i don't think Chet would be better "fit" , but neither is Banchero.
However ,Banchero is worst fit for current roster because he is player that needs shooting around him. Magic have non of it.
