KD in Play? KD AND Kyrie?!?!

Post#1 » by LAL1947 » Thu Jun 30, 2022 7:33 pm

KD wants out of the Nets!! I'd do a straight swap of Lebron for KD.

And if we're not on KD's list, can we please make this a 3-team deal?

Phoenix IN: Kevin Durant
Phoenix Out: Mikal Bridges, DeAndre Ayton (S&T @ max)

Nets IN: Lebron James
Nets Out: Kevin Durant

Lakers IN: Mikal Bridges, DeAndre Ayton
Lakers Out: Lebron James

Pretty sure LeBron has a no trade clause.....so unless there is something in it for him, he will not sign off.

So the FO supposedly says "Zero Chance" AD is traded for KD... If that's true, it pretty much cements the idea that our FO is myopic and maybe a bit thick... Only reason I can think for that stance is because Klutch doesn't want him to go to Brooklyn... Does anybody think AD is actually better at basketball than KD? Better fit next to LeBron maybe on paper, but in reality, the AD/LeBron pairing has been mostly underwhelming...
So all factors considered, saying absolutely no to what amounts to a KD/AD swap, seems the height of idiocy, or dysfunction...

I read that too.

But there's another report that says NBA executives believe the Lakers would be interested in bringing both KD and Kyrie to LAL. If that report is true, it would almost for sure need both Russ and AD to be a part of the package.

I believe that the Lakers FO would pull that trigger if available.

How can this front office say no to a lineup that features LBJ/KD/Kyrie? They'd be complete imbeciles if they don't.

I just don think the Nets would ever do that. That would be a fail of epic proportions on the part of the Nets if they do that.

I just have a really hard time envisioning KD and LeBron playing together...

I hear you.
On paper, it seems like a good problem to have.

In reality, there would be no ball movement when KD and LBJ are on the floor together.

It's a wonder how Kerr was able to make it work with KD, Steph, and Klay on the floor together.

In that system, he had great spacing, Draymond as a floor general, and Steph who actually did move the ball around. Selfless players, who played within a great offensive system.

Not sure that can happen in a lineup with both KD and LBJ on the floor.

What if we did AD/Westbrook for Kyrie/Simmons? Keeps Klutch even, and maybe convinces KD to stay in brooklyn...
Is Simmons really that bad? He wants to be in LA and so does Kyrie it seems...

Of course not. It's silly season. Fake news abounds.

Not sure if anyone knows other than those two themselves, but that is what Windhort reported yesterday, that they want to play together, just not in Brooklyn

Kd doesn't need the ball in fact it's best if he doesn't have it in his hands as a primary handler. Lebron is the perfect match for a guy like kd the perfect system player. Bad things happen when kd has the rock dribbling. Lakers need to trade russ ad and whoever else for kyrie and kd. It's win now for the Lakers bc of lebron's age. In Rob we trust to get lebron number 5

LeBron does not have a no trade clause, so he has no say. That being said, I doubt the Lakers trade him.

The second thing is that... what team could want to trade for LeBron? LeBron isn't getting traded to a team unless LeBron deems it so. I know he is under contract, he doesn't have a no trade clause and they could trade him anywhere and by the terms of his contract he could have to go, but you can't do that to a player of his stature and his status."

AD and Westbrook’s expiring $47M for KD and Kyrie.

That’s what I ass-umed.

While I don't think this is your fathers KD any longer.... he's more valuable than Davis in the short term. The FO is enamored on the star power of Davis for 5-7 more years is the only way this makes sense. If you filter most of their decisions through that lens it helps understand their mindset.

I don't see anyone thinking LeBron is the centerpiece without a LOT around him anymore. He's entered the twilight of his career.

That, or they don't want to be caught trying to move AD until something is truly solidified. As we're all seeing, these stars can be a sensitive lot. You ruffle some feathers, and it's "mental rest" and trade demands all around. I'm not saying nothing about AD or Lebron until the ink dries. Even then....look at Odom.

Considering how badly we make deals when we have the advantage....what do you think AD demanding a move would look like? We'd prob give a pick to the team that took him.
