How is he underrated defensively? He's been crowned since he's been drafted. He never improved offensively so he;s been showered with all-defense acclaim since entering the league. He's an elite defender. But, he's also a mental midget and shies away from defending bigs. He's the anti-Draymond in that regard.

Ben Simmons solely gets the benefit of extra hype due to being a top pick. Ben is a Bam Adebayo that is (1) weaker; (2) shorter wingspan; (3) more of a 1-4 defender than the 1-5 defender that Bam is; (4) has no discernable offensive ability if he's not ball dominant (and your team isn't winning sh*t if Ben is the main option).
So you're either forcing a point Winslow scenario to cater to Ben Simmons on offense or having a subpar screener that doesn't know how to play off ball as a big man or shoot.

Narrative plays a role with Ben. He's played with one of highest Usg players of all time. In fact the Ben Simmons has had a lower USG% in his last 3 seasons than Bam's. They're at worse similar players where as Bam score mores Ben is a much better playmaker. He has a Career 34% Ast% which is elite.
The attitude part is concerning but the Sixers org is a **** show. Ben was fine a few years ago and now he's damaged goods.
I'm not letting a Ben/Bam swap get in the way of getting an all time great if it was on the table.
