Forget next contract, he needs to be in jail & getting help. You can't do stuff like this to people, much less someone you're supposed to love and have children with.

A loss for the Dubs.
Blazers are so stupid, they did all that maneuvering and all they have to show for it is a new overpaid supporting cast who can’t get Lillard a ring. They basically cleared McCollum’s money to pay Simons. Norman Powell, Covington and CJ out, Jerami Grant, Josh Hart and Gary Payton Jr. in…

Perhaps. But now you're asking a guy (gallo's guy) play a role and do something out on the court he's not used to doing, you're taking that team out of their normal gameplan/rhythm..
Just saying, people don't usually hunt mismatches vs PF's. PG's, wings and centers will sometimes get abused. Just my opinion that the 4 spot is the easiest spot to hide a poor defender.
Of course Udoka does like his 4's to be good, switchable defenders, though (Al, Grant). So it all goes back to how much do they want gallo's scoring, does it balance out his defense..and for how much on the contract, does gallo choose a different team..
Yeah, I get that. And, again, I'm on board with signing him, it just seemed like you were being a touch dismissive of the ability of teams to attack him. If the other team sees Smart, Jaylen, Tatum, Gallo, Rob, they'll find a way to involve Gallo on D. Agreed that regular season they won't spend as much time planning to attack a 20 minute bench guy, but the guys on the other side will smell him when he walks out there, lol.
I think the pros outweigh the cons, just not going in blindly on the cons.

Suns fan here reading along in this thread. Saw that you guys might want Jae back. Would your FO do a Jae for Grant Williams swap. I assume you could take the balance of Jae's salary into your trade exemption.
I ask because he seems like he'd be a decent dirty work guy who'd fit on Phoenix (with or without KD). Just curious. Thanks.

Still think we need a 4 that can push Grant for minutes so that we don't have to play Grant 25 minutes every single night even in his 2-point nights just because there's nobody else. Warren would be perfect but let's face it, he's probably going to end up with Miami or the Lakers.

That won't happen.

You can protect a weaker defender when is is playing against subs. We just lost a title in large part to not having any bench scoring, and clearly need it, primarily on the wings.
