if we get thomas bryant, I expect theis to be a gonner. It doesn't make sense to pay $9 mil a year for a 3rd string center. if we can get a guy who is comparable to theis for the veterans minimum, you do it and you flip theis for a guard or wing..
Just to be clear I am fine with signing Bryant but he is not better than Theis. On the defensive end he is like playing Kanter or Kornet there is some offense and can put some work in on the glass but the scoreboard goes the wrong way when they are on the floor.
I agree that Theis is better than bryant. but IDK that he's THAT much better. 3rd string center is not a super important position in today's NBA. 3rd string center is not a guy who is consistently in the rotation. I am fine having a guy in that spot who's maybe a little bit worse if it frees up enough $ to acquire a guy who would be a consistent rotation player.
