Would be amazing, but I don't think he's quick enough for that.

No, I don't think you play Grant at the 3..

if we get thomas bryant, I expect theis to be a gonner. It doesn't make sense to pay $9 mil a year for a 3rd string center. if we can get a guy who is comparable to theis for the veterans minimum, you do it and you flip theis for a guard or wing..

Just to be clear I am fine with signing Bryant but he is not better than Theis. On the defensive end he is like playing Kanter or Kornet there is some offense and can put some work in on the glass but the scoreboard goes the wrong way when they are on the floor.

I agree that Theis is better than bryant. but IDK that he's THAT much better. 3rd string center is not a super important position in today's NBA. 3rd string center is not a guy who is consistently in the rotation. I am fine having a guy in that spot who's maybe a little bit worse if it frees up enough $ to acquire a guy who would be a consistent rotation player.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Still much rather Warren over Bryant if possible.

**side note, If Galo gets reasonable amount of minutes, it spells a much less impact for Grant Williams. Neiter are a center or SF and there are only so many backup minutes at PF.

just a thought.

So, it seems that @PerSources dude is legit? Broke the news way before Woj did.

Still wouldn’t surprise me if Brooklyn just stands pat for awhile though.

A 2/3 who can play some defense and hit 3's seems the likely direction. Josh Richardson may be the guy. Can't see guys like Marcus Morris, Olynyk, Kuzma, Crowder and Kennard, and guys who were just dealt like KCP and Barton.

Wouldn't be a TPE deal, but I'd love Theis/Nesmith/Pritchard/Morgan/2023 1st to BRK for Joe Harris if they start selling pieces.

Smart / White
Brown / Harris
Tatum
Horford / GWilliams / Gallo
R Williams

Sign me up with that as a playoff rotation. Gallo and Harris would be HUGE as floor spacers. Sign Thomas Bryant as a backup center for regular season minutes and try to find decent vet min backups at PG and on the wing too.

He's an intriguing player.. size, length, rebounding, could get a three point shot again, can score. He's not Kanter level bad, but he's a work in progress. They had Jabari Parker here, so they're not above taking a flyer on an offensive player. But he'd have to improve significantly on that side of the ball. He's young, it's possible, he has the physical traits to be competent..

Seven years have passed since then so just shave off seven points. He can still score 40 pts for us.

MLE went to Gallo. So I don't think Warren is possible. It'd have to be on the minimum which is not realistic.

darrendaye wrote:Would have preferred TJ Warren as I believe he's a better defensive player, but, also understand the significant injury risk. I do though agree with those expressing a want to bring in a more defensive strong option via TPE. But Gallo fits bill for scoring and at the position I would have preferred it be addressed. He would have been in my top 4 options had he been an UFA at the start and maybe a spot higher.

TJ is not a very good defender, can't really play the 4, his 3 pt shooting is a recent addition to his game, and added to the injuries is the fact that he hasn't come off the bench since he was young. He is a good scorer and you can make it work but I think Gallo is a better fit with what this team needs and he won't be as much of a liability at the PF spot as he is the SF.

I’m happy with Gallo. Now lets get a rotation guard or Crowder for the mininum. The guard please be one who can create and shoot…

Love the Gallo move.

He's someone off the bench we were severely lacking just two weeks ago...

I'd be happy with Josh as a rotation wing.. we know Ime is willing to play him. Low maintenance, easy to slot into a role.

Kennard, Huerter, Beasley are the best offensive wings.. but I've also warmed to Jordan Clarkson, if Utah's giving him away in a rebuild. (They're not, Danny will get his 1st). Would settle for Derrick Favors or Jamychal Green as cap fodder.
