He’s worth a look if you trade away Kuzma. Definitely not better than Avdija.
It’s a no brainer pick up though.

He looks better than Hachimura to me. I don't think he is better than Avdija though. You can't ignore Avdija's impact on defense. It's also worth nothing that Roby is 24 - a full 3 years older than Avdija.
Sheppard definitely ought to see if we can pick him up off waivers. But I suspect there will be teams higher on the waivers priority who will grab him first.

For sure OKC would rather see a kid like Roby go the Eastern Conference rather than stay in the West, where if he's successful they'll be reminded of him frequently. IOW, we are a better place for their cast offs than SA.
In this case... we do have an awful lot of PFs on our roster.

Dude taking a pay cut to go back to the team who told him he wasn't good enough and not hea go na be spoken about as a young piece the Lakers can use in a trade come the dead line.

I can't wait for late Jan where LA fans are trying to use him like a blue chip and offer him in trades for guys like Beal ECTI_Like_Dirt wrote:gambitx777 wrote:Dude taking a pay cut to go back to the team who told him he wasn't good enough and not hea go na be spoken about as a young piece the Lakers can use in a trade come the dead line.

I'm sure LA held some appeal to him regardless but I'm not nearly so sure other teams were offering him substantially more. Bryant still has potential but he's been a net negative every single season of his career and it's not like he's been on great teams that make him look bad by comparison. And his total games played by season: 15, 72, 46, 10, 27. Teams don't throw significant money at guys like that. If he can stay healthy and prove himself, he'll get paid again.
The Lakers are so thin I would have kept anyone under 25 I could get .closg00 wrote:
