Ayton
whoever/Jalen Smith
Mathurin
Duarte
Hali
That team is going to make a champioship run 2 or 3 years from now-- I'd probably get Gallo to fill that Stretch 4/Maybe move Mathurin to the 2 and get a vet 3 and they might make a deep run this year.
Indiana got the guy the Knicks should of been aiming for in the draft
Got the point guard knicks should of gotten if Randle wasn't such a prick(event though I think I'll be happy with JB once Thibs is fired
also wanted them to sign Jalen Smith(might of gotten a more established 7 foot version in Hart)\
-We probably still can get Ayton --- but who wants a maxed out Center ... amIright...
To me it looks like they jumped from one treadmill to another. I guess they can compete for a championship run if Halliburton and Ayton both become top 20 players
but isn't that what you pay your front office for? Ayton is 23 yrs old with finals experience, defensive center that gives you an athletic 17pts and 10 rbs --- Hali is a defensive 6'5" pt guard that already gives you an efficient 15pts and 8 assists--- and you sandwich another high pick like Mathurin--- it'll take another 3 years b4 these guys are in their prime -- how can anyone dismiss this as another treadmill --- to me they get an A+ even if they don't get Ayton b/c they got a bunch of flexibility on top of top tier talent.

I actually agree with this, but it’s two different teams with two different goals.
The pacers seem ok with rebuilding a good team into a younger team with a longer window than the Knicks. The Knicks have the dual issue of trying to raise ticket prices (by being in the playoffs as many times as possible) while hopefully making a contender sooner than later. All without drafting high in the lottery. Basically the Knicks cannot move the ways the pacers are moving because they are not allowed to rebuild over multiple seasons.

He has looked incredible. A lot of solid defensive sequences too which I do think he’ll show he’s a lot more capable on that end consistently than he showed in college. Truly gifted scorer especially at that size

Whats crazy it doesn't take that long. OKC had Paul George and Westbrook 3 years ago. They are building a competitor for the next 10 plus years. I agree the Knicks cannot build like the pacers because ownership will not allow it. Its extremely shortsighted on ownership part. What crazy we are still the most valuable franchise in the NBA if we had an amazing team I believe its value would double.
