Sure, once he clears waivers, if they could convince him to take a minimum salary.

Teams receiving…
Warriors: KD
Nets: SGA, Wiggins, Westbrook, 2 Lakers FRPs
OKC: Simmons, Moody, THT, 2 Warriors FRPs
Lakers: Kyrie, Joe Harris, D. Favors
I like Moody and Wiggs but the West is likely to get tougher and the Celtics will be better with off-season moves. We still keep most of the young future core so loss of our future, likely later first round picks is not a killer. As far as motivation for the other teams involved, I think the return for each is reasonable. OKC loves kicking the can for FRPs and also get 3 good players in the deal for a good but not elite player in SGA. Seems like OKC would be a good, lower pressure environment for Simmons. Nets get 2 borderline All stars and 2 first round picks from Lakers that will realize when the Lakers core ages out. Yes, maybe we enable the Lakers but Kyrie could also implode and even if he doesn’t, I still think we have a significant edge over them as a result of this deal (Kyrie will get there with our without our involvement). I know the anti KD feelings we all have but we are more assured of winning 3 of next 4 championships with him than without him. Objectively, what do you guys think of this deal for the Warriors and other teams involved?

Nah. Definitely not off-limits. But Springer/Reed for Poole is absurd.

what do you think Poole's worth in a trade?
clyde21 wrote:can fans just stop for once overvaluing their own assets? at the end of the day you're talking about a score first combo guard that can't defend. this archetype is everywhere. you see 5 of them in every draft class. it's one of the easiest roles to fill in the NBA today. not sure why this perspective keeps getting lost on people.
right now we have an opportunity to get ahead of the logjam we're gonna have after this season with Wiggy/Poole/Dray possibly looking for extensions, while Poole's value is relatively high and is easy to trade. if you get into next off season without doing this, you will lose one of these guys for nothing in FA. almost guaranteed. my bet would be on JP.
again, im not sure what type of return you're expecting here for JP a year away from a 30m a pop extension. if you think you're gonna get a blue chipper back, good luck with that.
as for Springer/Reed, Springer's a 5* HS recruit and highly talented PG a year removed from being a 1st rounder, Paul Reed has been one of the best if not THE best G League player the last yr or so and fits in perfectly here as a combo big, he's also a highly valued asset around the league b/c he's so cheap and ready to be part of a rotation today. these are two young cost controlled assets that fit our system and personnel that we could potentially scale and develop for cheap. what's the problem here?
im not sure why this is crazy or a 'troll' to some of you. some of yall really just starting to seem part of a weird cult at this point where mere suggestions of player trades or the simplest criticisms (some dude threw a hissy fit last night because I said I'd like Wiseman to play more physical lmao), and perfectly reasonable ones, elicit such weird and childish responses.

That would be one way to go. Another way would be to use him this season. Based on last year he would be much more valuable than anyone you could get in a trade at his salary, so allow him to contribute to another championship season, then let him walk. Pick up a minimum salary replacement and avoid adding $25M or whatever to the team salary. Look at it as an expiring contract that will contribute to a championship. I would prefer to deal with him this way.

agreed, that's why I said this:if we get to trade deadline and it looks like a down year for us, Poole for Jaden Springer/Paul Reed would set us up nicely for the following season.
if we're going ham next season obviously just go for it, but if it looks like it's not happening for us for whatever reason, pull the trigger.

azwfan wrote:Btw, regarding the “theres 5 of them every year” point, ill say 2 things:
1) There arent 5 as good as poole every year, and 2) The Ryan Rollins selection appears to me as a possible Poole replacement pick, as he to me seems like a combo guard, multi-level scorer, but with possibly less burst and more defense. Time will tell on that though.
