F it - let's do it. Give Utah the bag. Ainge is not going to move him if he doesn't love the deal, so we have to give up what it takes to get him. 6 1sts plus all the kids the Jazz want (Ainge wants no part of RJ and his contract). All of them.
At least we'll field a team that's exciting and should be good for many years. Where are we going if we don't do it? With adding only Brunson, we're not going anywhere. We all know that. We'll be stuck in middling hell for the next 5 years.
The Knicks brass don't care about the draft. That's been proven. So, what are we saving all these picks for if we have no interest in using them?
Grimes, Obi, IQ and 6 1sts. Lets do it.
You sound like the type to get robbed by a guy poking his finger through his shirt and telling you it’s a gun.
Why? What's the point of saving all these picks if we're not going to use them? Who are you saving them for? Zion? Gone. The 12 other players people on here have been clamoring for for the past 3-5 years (Beal, Lavine, KAT, etc.)? Gone. They're all off the market.
There is a total of zero other players that can be had that are the caliber of player that Mitchell is. Tell me who else you want? Do you think Obi/IQ/Grimes are special and will eventually become the player that Mitchell is? If that was the case, we could deal them to another team for a huge haul. But GMs around the league know those guys are just role players.
Let's go for it and bring some damn excitement and legitimacy to our team again. At least we'll have some positivity and respect across the league again. And it's possible we can add some other players who might not have considering coming here before these moves.
