The team can definitely last another year, but it will be last affordable year for this roster.
Herro, Dipo, Strus, Vincent, Yurt are going to get paid AFTER this upcoming season.
So we can still make a move at trade deadline, some of these guys might actually up their value for contenders.
The question is can we repeat last's season with the same roster? I say probably not, because Celtics, Bucks and Sixers got better.
If we get rid of Lowey and Duncan after this year (48Mil Combined!), we might be able to keep all these guys (they should cost around that number, probably even 60+ Mil combined)...but we'll still be missing that star piece (unless Herro takes another big leap).
Miami keeps all these guys and then what? As of now there is nobody that will have a bigger impact on this franchise then Butler currently does so staying the same, getting some more development will leave Miami in a lesser place then it was this next season. Even though I expect some really good play from Oladipo, he's 30 and not all that big so unlike Butler, probably won't be very good in his mid 30s although he'll probably be rotation quality. Bam? I don't think he has the mentality; can he push himself and others help him push him to being an offensive threat for a short amount of time, sure but that pressure will wear off. Sure keep working on him but at this point just move forward that it's not going to happen and if it does happen... great but don't wait around for it and have the roster suffer because of it.
Miami needs to consolidate, upgrade the top half of the roster and then start developing new roleplayers and possibly take another shot at developing a high potential player.
Even running it back, it's possible even without PJ that this team will be better because of the young guys developing more, Strus and Vincent finally really experiencing the playoffs and of course Oladipo finally being back to at least working out during the summers like he once did to get ready for the next season.
Also, let's all hope Butler continues to work on that 3pt shot, it will help open up things for his teammates and allow him to not have to attack the basket as much reducing the wear and tear on his body.
