It would just be as simple as them announcing they're looking to trade Kyrie because the front office doesnt want to deal with him anymore. And if they cant a deal done they will just pay him to sit at home and stay away from the team.
It makes sense from the perspective that KD doesn’t want to get his hands dirty. Conscious of his public perception, he’s not going to and demand that the Nets get rid of someone.
Instead, soon as Kyrie opted in, KD demanded a trade to put Nets on notice he’s not happy and is now sending out signals that it was about Kyrie without coming out and saying it.
Marks, Kyrie and KD probably aren’t directly communicating at this point I’d bet.
Ya but thats my point, he wouldnt have to publicly get his hands dirty. Im sure KD couldve just gone to the Nets front office and said, "Im done playing with Kyrie, but I dont want to be seen as the guy who is breaking this up." And Im sure the Nets front office would have zero hesitation to say okay and be the ones that publicly take the blame for wanting to get rid of Kyrie.
That seems much more simpler than KD wanting to still play for the Nets, but demanding a trade from the Nets with the hope that the Nets dont trade him but only trade Kyrie. He's KD, the Nets are going to do whatever it takes to keep him and keep him happy. Taking public heat for getting Kyrie off the team is something Im more that theyd be willing to do. Because its killing two birds with one stone. They get to keep KD and keep him happy, while also getting rid of Kyrie who Im pretty sure they dont even want anymore to begin with.
