I don't like it. It's probably right.

Seems fine to me. Good to ship out Obi so that the usual suspects stop trying to undermine the Knicks all-NBA player. Though I guess they'll pivot to Paschall. Grimes is fine to go - probably ends up sticking in the league (though I thought that about whole team Dot), but Mitchell takes all of his developmental minutes anyway.

[edit] I would want to insist on #1-protection for the 2023 picks. And pay more on the back end of necessary. Tbhi don't see a Brunson-Mitchell-Randle led Knicks being in the lottery, but if it all goes tits up you can't give up your 7.5% chance at big Vic for nothing.

Sucks losing Obi but he is rotting away behind Randle

Mitchell replaces Grimes which is an upgrade

Grimes is better than Quickley and Quickley would make the third small guard on the roster behind Brunson and Mitchell. Grimes is also a better shooter and defender.

Trading 3 unprotected firsts + Grimes is bad enough. Obi just makes it worse, plus 2 more picks. What valuable assets will be left over for another trade after that? Quickley? Sims? 2029 unprotected first? That’s a major depletion right there.

Grimes is a better fit but IQ is Don’s friend which probably plays a role with him coming to NY. Same reason I could see Don in Miami with Bam

I am thinking the Lakers must feel somewhat desperate to make something happen around LeBron and AD. Maybe they get roped into this and they find something that makes sense for all 3 teams. I am surprised OKC hasn't been talked about in any of the trades this summer.

The Jazz radio guy story seems legit to me. Maybe they are close and they are just trying to make calls for a third team to see if they can finalize a deal or, just haggling over the final package.

For all we know...Ainge is just wasting everyone's time like KD is doing. The whole league seemed to stall once he opened his mouth. Now things seem slower to me.
