Getting either one would mean adding more picks into the trade.

Clarkson has one year left with a player option for the following year - not sure if Utah sees that as a two year contract they'd like to shed, but Clarkson is good - I'd say basically what people IQ could be - a 15 ppg scorer/rotational player 13.4 million

Bojan B has a one year contract, no team option. 19.3 million.

I'd assume the Ainge/The Jazz are looking to move them in separate deals for 1st round picks. Seem like the kinds of players playoff teams would like to have - guys who have proven to shoot the 3 well on volume.

I think there's value in theory of the Knicks adding either guy, particularly Boj B who could back up 4/3 and provide shooting, but again, think Ainge wants to move them in later deals.

Good take,
Yea the hope is that the Ainge is satisfied with just dumping the contracts which I heard was a reason for the hold up: expand deal for salary dumps.

Should it cost extra picks? Am thinking no . At that point not not worth it. If it cost ya a couple youth then I might consider .
Would probably lean towards Bogey. Would soften the blow if you lose obi . Hard to believe he was best #2 option they could muster during that whole era . Imagine he would be like 4th to 5th option here.

Obi preparing to play with new teammates.

Didn’t the Cavs want Obi during the draft ?

Maybe a 3 way trade with sexton to the Jazz and Obi to the Cavs and it saves an asset or something

Boj B might be 4th option here, but an important one, if they got him.

Maybe there's some theoretical trade where Randle goes out and BojB comes back - in the context of Knick still sending out Fournier and/or Rose, Cam, picks, etc

According to my sources, there are two possibilities:

a.) The Knicks will trade for Donovan Mitchell
b.) The Knicks will not trade for Donovan Mitchell

My sources say it is 50/50 at this point

Brunson is a Knick.
Pretend Mitchell will be a Knick.

Brunson had a lot of success playing 5 out and working in the paint with the ball
Bruson also proved he can play off the ball with a ball dominant player, though Luka passes a lot
Brunson will shoot 3's but not at volume, he's not bad at it when he does
IMHO spacing can be provided without shooting 3's if the the player has to be accounted for and can hit the midrange - Brunson does that
Brunson also had success in lineups that were 4 out instead of 5 out - Powell ,WCS etc have seen minutes
Dallas rolled out the following groups of 3 point threats:

Bullock/Donic/Kleiber/DFS (kinda - not a stiff), and then combinations of KP/Bertrans and THJr/Dinwiddie, depending on trades, injury situations

Donovan Mitchell had a lot of success being on the ball playing 4 out
I'm not sure how often the Jazz went small ball and 5 out
While Mitchell himself, Conley and Boj B provided the 3 point shooting in the starting lineup and Royce O'Neal and Gobert didn't, Jazz had Clarkson and Ingles (when healthy in 20-21) playing starters/heavy rotation minutes

Utah rolled out the following 3 point shooters in 20-21 (healthier year)
Mitchell/Conley/Boj B/Ingles/Clarkson, with a little bit of İlyasova

Knicks don't have a Klieber to got 5 out. At best Hartenstein off the bench provides more spacing from 5 than a rim runner

I think Brunson at 6'1 approximates the output on offense of Conley or beats it - Jazz had 32,33,34 age Conley. Conley isn't an assist monster but more of a pure PG than Brunson. Brunson a better all around scorer. Older Conley definitely more committed to getting up more 3 point shots but that's kind of the league changing, I'd think.

Randle and RJ aren't the greatest 3 point shooters, but I don't think either are bad.

If Randle and RJ are starting, how would you organize the offense or change it from Thibs has done last 2 years to maximize the starting 5?
Who would you try to retain if at all possible while getting Mitchell to make the offense the best for Brunson/Mitchell, if not the defense as well? Meaning - Fournier, IQ and Grimes - retaining rotational shooting all costs? Even if it's means losing Obi and Cam and Rose?

Who would you move Randle for in a trade to make the lineup work better?
If not Randle, who would you move RJ for? Pre and post extension - before he's a lower $ contract, so who is good at that price, and after, he's paid more, but might be easier to find that proficient volume 3&D player making 25 million

Ex:
Have Randle set the screen, get the ball and then make passes from there?
Play Randle more at the 5, saying f*ck you Mitch?
Etc

This is why I’m ok with Obi going out in the trade. He’s a nice player as an energy big and pressuring the defense by getting out in the break. In half court play that comes more into focus for playoffs he’s not nearly as good because he can’t shoot. I don’t have faith in him becoming a good shooter because his form and shooting motion needs a complete rebuild- at least it’s better than DSJ

i was hoping Obi’s jumper would look improved considering he’s been working in the off season but he looks the same. only impressive thing I saw him do was size someone up and hit a 3 in his grill. rest were ugly bricks and cool dunks. i would ship him to Utah with no hesitation.

dsjs jumper looks worse than ever. i don’t know who’s training him but they’re giving him horrible advice.last season it looked much better but now it’s super ugly. he’s on his way to Europe or a training camp deal at best smh

Im not the biggest social media guy but I started following Knicks Twitter and holy sh 1t does it makes our fanbase look insane

Nothing but complaining about Knicks being unfairly covered and how it’s a conspiracy. They think Dolan gets unfairly maligned.

Today the theme is after what OBI did at the Miami pro league he should be untouchable outside of a deal for Giannis.

Is this just satire? Or is Knicks Twitter mentally Ill?
