everyone just wants to bash the knicks ; even if it doesn't make sense or lines up. Didnt Utah, just about three weeks ago say they were holding onto mitchell? Not even 2 weeks pass and they are calling us trying to make a "deal" for donovan. utah is very transparent currently. I have no problem letting Donovan (unfortunately) and Danny rot. Yeah, we hold all the leverage. We can trade probably two first rounders and get an impact player somewhere, we do not need to empty the cupboards. Look at our roster, now look at Utah's roster. Hell, take into account all the draft picks as well... WHO HOLDS THE LEVERAGE? Educate me again... errr , better yet, change your username to "enlightened".
The Knicks badly want Donovan Mitchell, and the Jazz have him under contract for three years. The Jazz don't have to trade Donovan. He's not a distressed asset. That's why the Knicks have to make a big offer in order to get him. And from the reports that are leaking, it sounds as though that's what's happening.
the reports that are being leaked by Ainge and Utah reporters, in order to try and force the Knicks hand into a terrible move? the one people that are leaking things are those with an agenda behind it.

Knicks dont have to make a "big offer". Nobody can come close to what we can offer. He aint distressed yet... give him about a month of winless basketball, let's see how mitchell handles that.
Dude, you're in denial. Patrick Kinahan is a reliable sports broadcaster with more than 25 years on the air. He leaked that a deal is being finalized, bringing back a haul for Donovan Mitchell. When he did that, he irritated a few members of the Jazz's staff, but there was never any rebuttal to what he reported. He's the same guy that leaked the Gobert trade several hours before it was released by the league. He's not getting played here, and leaking the trade would only damage the Jazz's credibility and ability to walk away.
Forty-eight hours later, NYK sources are leaking that a deal is in the final stages as well. Those sources are not connected to the Utah sources. When multiple, independent release the same information, it's worth paying attention to.
The trade package is likely going to be along the lines of Obi, Grimes, Fournier, 4+ FRPs, and multiple swaps. The only question is which picks and what protections (if any) are put on them. The trade is going to be comparable to, or greater than, the Gobert deal. If it weren't, Ainge wouldn't be doing it.
There's also the option to expand the trade and move veteran players, like Fournier, Rudy Gay or Mike Conley to other teams.
