Serious question: do you have a mental illness?
Look, the fact that any person in the world would be jailed for possession of weed/hash oil, etc is absolutely ridiculous. I don't think OP is suggesting otherwise. But the reality is that we live in a world where the rights we have here and many parts of the world are not afforded elsewhere. Whether it's religious freedoms in China or women rights in the Middle East, or even drugs in many parts of Asia, they don't view these issues through the same lens the US does and I think that's what he was referring to.
There is obviously a political element to all this which makes it even more wrong but taking "drugs" to another country when that country is about to enter a major war and also proxy war with your home country - and you're a huge star in your respective sport going to play there - you really have to use better judgment and hopefully it's a learning lesson to all and also a means to appreciating our own country a bit more.
Having said that, free Brittney. It's BS but I did read somewhere finding her guilty was the 1st step in finalizing a deal with the US.
Edit: there are 1000's of Brittney Griner's here in our jails that should be free as well.
