Grant 19 PPG
Cade 18 PPG
Bey 16 PPG

Actual

Grant 19.2 PPG
Cade 17.4 PPG
Bey 16.1 PPG

Don't get much close than that. Cade could have easily been closer to that 18 PPG as well if it wasn't for his early injury but overall spot on.

Well done

Nice. What are your predictions for this year's team?

The top two scorers in Cade and Bey are pretty easy to predict, I'd put Cade at 23 and Bey at 18. The third scorer is really completely up in the air at the moment. Best case is likely for it to be Ivey, but a lot of that will depend on whether or not he can catch and shoot passes from Cade well. I also think Stewart could be a dark horse candidate for third because he will set a ton of picks and pop to that three point line. It's just a matter of how much the defense decides to take it away if he starts to get known for hitting those. In reality 3rd could be Ivey, Stewart, Olynyk, Livers, Bagley, Burks or even Diallo who was a high usage and point per minute scorer off the bench last season... and he's in a contract year. Lots of guys I could see averaging between 12 and 15 a game if they are given a chance. Part of that equation is who ends up being the #1 bench option.

The big thing about Cade at 23 PPG is just him upping his TS% and lowering his TOs a bit from his post all-star numbers from last year and he's right there. But Cade also might defer a bit more if his teammates are better at making shots this year.... so in reality I could see Cade being 23P/6R/6A or I could see him being 20P/6R/8A.

In descending order-
Cade
Ivey
Bagley/Bey
Burkes
Livers/Duren
Stew/KO/Diallo
Killian/Noels
Knox/CoJo
MacGruder

So top 3 of
Cade
Ivey
Bagley

Eta: Added some of our deep bench that will probably be on the roster as of now.

Seems like the right hierarchy. I do see a couple of possibilities for high scorer - Ivey and Bey. Cade is still the main facilitator, Ivey driving, sometimes scoring, sometimes passing to a wide open Bey. And if we decide to go high tempo, Ivey will benefit big time. It’s been years since I’ve been this excited for the season to start!

obviously minute distribution will play a part but my guess right now would be:

cade 21 PPG
bey 18 PPG
ivey 14 PPG
bagley 14 PPG
burks 12 PPG

i could see burks having a bigger role off the bench so maybe switch burks and bagley's numbers in that case.

then a bunch of other guys in the 8-10 PPG range.

The more interesting thing to me, is how many assists Cade is going to average. He was at damn near 6 last year.

Cade 19 ppg
Bey 17 ppg
Stew 15 ppg
Bagley 14 ppg
Ivey 12 ppg

I'm not 100% convinced that we're going to see huge minutes out of Ivey & Duren early on. I think we're going to try and win some games with last seasons core 1st while bringing those guys along slower than expected. We got a good look at this group sans Grant down the stretch last year and that was a team that competed on every play and moved the ball offensively. Might not have any 20 ppg scorers on the team this year, but could be 7+ rotation guys in double digits.

If you are looking for Cade to take some huge leap you are probably a year early. He's got to not only adapt to being the teams undisputed #1 option, but adjust to teams now game planning against him. He impressed because of how NBA ready he was his rookie year, but he's still got a pretty big learning curve. Year 3 is where I'd expect him to make the biggest leap.

And I maintain that Beef **** Stew is better than people wanna give him credit for being. Dude is legit going to shoot the hell outa the ball this year and it's going to be glorious. He'll be in the conversation for Most Improved Player as he makes a case for starting stretch 4 long-term. If I were going to bank on any 1 Piston making a big jump this year, it's this guy right here.

Zooooomzoomzoomletsbreak!!
Duren/Bagley/Diallo/Ivey/Cade

I just remembered Diallo, we gotta have some Diallo, Ivey, Duren fastbreaks right.......right?
Don't know where he sees minutes, maybe Killians minutes?

Diallo can play minutes at 4 positions if we're desperate and depending on who else is available. He most definitely should play between 15 & 25 minutes most nights

Saddiq Bey averaged 19 without Grant last year, so I'd put that as his floor.

Cunningham: 22
Bey: 21
Ivey: 11
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

Not sure where to put this, but it does have some relevance, at least concerning Cade;

Decent article and info as well.

I think Cade gets more efficient, with a little less volume.
I think Ivey gets a lot of shots but isn’t very efficient outside of 3 feet.
I think Saddiq loses some shots to Ivey and stretch Stew.
Not sure on the rest, but I’ll guess anyway:

Cade 20 ppg
Bey 17 ppg
Ivey 14 ppg
Bagley 12 ppg
Stewart 11 ppg
Burks 10 ppg
