That's how much of your cap he is going to take up every year, obviously if he's sitting out like that the Nets will have to trade em for a bag of chips if they have to because it would be dumb to keep that much of your cap tied up in a player that is not playing.
Kyrie is a 36 Mil cap hit and no matter what he is gone as soon as the season is over at the latest if you guys don't offload him before, that's 80 Mil of your 130 Mil Cap with the hard cap being 162 Mil. It would be bad for the Nets organization, but it would be far worse for you guys as Nets fans. If they stay for the year. You guys got two guys taking up half your cap space that don't want to be there, which to me would make it very hard to root for the games because by extension it would be rooting for those two guys. If they don't you got Ben Simmons the guy that got booed out of Philly, also the same guy that could have at least tried to play a game in the play off to save your season... and he said no.
So in your opinion best for Nets it’s to trade Durant for scrap’s to one of his preferred destinations ?
I’m not Simmons apologist, but if ever had slightest lower back problems you would probably understand that is more that it simply saying no , he got surgery right after season ended , so Simmons it’s an open book for us Nets fans , could be great , could backfire, time will tell
Back to Durant, definitely one thing Nets shouldn’t do it’s to trade him for some role players or weak picks
trade him for at least JB + Brent/ pick package or tell him to either play or stay home
Don't get me wrong I don't come by to flame or troll. And honestly the Nets are in caught between a rock and a hard place. Def would not want to be going through it. There really isn't a winning situation unless Boston really gives you JB, and from what's going around the Celtics are supremely pissed with your FO for airing out the package that was not agreed to and not inclined to do the trade anymore. We all know WOJ, and ESPN is not going to report that (if true, because as fan's we really don't know what the actual truth is until something happens, but WOJ has already been caught red handed sitting on info and blocking others from ESPN from mentioning stuff).
So if that is to be true, and there is no JB trade, No ingram trade. There really isn't anyone out there. Maybe one materializes during the season. But by that point your season is possibly quite over before it even starts. I also could be talking out of my arse and you guys get JB tomorrow. I guess we'll find out sometime this year.
I just want this to be over with so we can all move on. Personally, I'd rather wait for the JB contract to expire to go snatch him up for free than to gut the roster for 35 year old KD. I even prefer JB over Mitchell even though Mitchell is more likely to end up in the Heat because of his strong ties to Bam.
