I obviously do not have a background in serial killer psychology, but I am finding it a little unbelievable Domhnall Gleeson's character traits. Seems to be a little too normal and well adjusted for a serial killer. But again, what do I know.

Same, I'm no expert other than watching shows and have read the Wikis of some of the big ones. Yea the classic way to look at serial killers is a completely awkward anti-social person. I'd guess that's generally considered true but like everything there is exceptions. Plus in most cases these people are sociapaths who can lie and manipulate to fit their whims, which often will be in order to fit in.

One that pops in my head is Bundy. Seemed to live a fairly normal life, had normal girlfriends, jobs, weaved in and out of legit social circles.

Yes. It's like a long movie with good performances down the roster.

She got all the accolades but I had to skip every scene that Jennifer Coolidge was in. Otherwise the show was okay.

White Lotus is unique and off the wall. I liked it a lot. It's not for everyone. The performances were great and Mike White's script was top notch IMO
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I've enjoyed Rings of Power a bit more than HOTD so far. HOTD has been a bit, shall I say, stagnant so far. Hopefully the upcoming time jump will start to move some pieces and make things happen.

Rings of Power has been, in general, an enjoyable experience. But, if there's one thing that annoys me, it's been that some of the dialogue has come off like JRR Tolkien fan fic.

Coolidge was great in White Lotus, but the Aussie actor who played the hotel manager was the star of the show.

Havent watched RoP so I won't comment in that but HoD has been stellar in my opinion. Wasn't a fan of the 1st episode but since then it's been GoTs seasons 1-4 light.

All the characters have multiple layers and it really feels like it's captured what made GoTs so great early on

Eh, I'm not as enthusiastic as you about it. I've certainly enjoyed some of the palace intrigue, but it's hard to feel like things are moving when the show basically has focused on the same four people all pretty much in Kings Landing. GOT was so much more expansive and had a great cast - even the side characters were often riveting.

But I know that's the reality of HOTD - it's a Targaryen story about Targaryen drama, so it's not going to be as wide-ranging as GOT was.

Part of the reason that GOT couldn't stick the landing in so many peoples' eyes, is that it wasn't even possible to have satisfying character arcs and resolutions for everyone due to the sheer size of the cast. I appreciate a much more focused story like HOTD because it's clear what they're trying to do. Setting up the main characters of the Targaryan clan before likely killing some off and branching out to different areas of Westeros, whereas GOT tried to do the inverse of that.

It got a bit exhausting at times in the middle seasons for someone like me, who isn't obsessed with the books/lore enough to want to know all the different family trees and histories. Like.....

Spoiler:
Sorry nerds, we didn't need to have a 2-season arc of the "Crab-feeder" guy as the big bad. He served his narrative purpose and I'm glad they didn't waste any time in killing him off.

I hear you, but from my POV, the whole point of GOT was to know the families and their histories. It was the "game of thrones" - a bunch of different folks chasing the throne, scheming against each other, etc, and knowing their backstories and relationships helped make you invested in what was happening and made those twists even more stunning. That isn't to say that they couldn't have trimmed the fat, but there wasn't very much of that during the book-driven seasons, IMO, and afterwards, they trimmed so much that all that was left was empty calories.

As for your comment on HOTD -

Spoiler:
The crabfeeder angle was weird for me because they built him up as a scary dude only to have him killed off like it was nothing. That's largely because, in the book, he's a nothing character that only had a paragraph dedicated to him and was nothing like how they portrayed him physically.

My issue with that is why even bother to build him up in such a prominent manner if he's going to get wasted in such a simple way? It was totally unnecessary.

Just got Prime Video. What are some must-watch movies/shows/docs? I hear The Boys is good?

Yea, The Boys is really good. Couple of other good shows - Reacher, The Expanse, and Bosch.

Bosch is great. Reacher is good. Goliath (Billy Bob Thornton) was a good series.

Thirteen Lives (movie)
Outer Range (series)
All the Old Knives (movie)
Invincible (like an animated version of The Boys, sorta)
The Voyeurs (throwback thriller like you got in the 90s)
The Man in the High Castle (alternate history series)
Patriot (dark comedy series)

All recommend.

In addition to other titles already listed, I liked Jack Ryan quite a bit. Pretty sure Vikings is on there too if you haven't seen that yet.

See No Evil (2022) Watched it based on some hype the last few days. I'm really not sure what to think of it or even how to talk about it. Not even sure if I liked or hated it.

Not sure if you are a music fan, but there's a documentary series (I think it aired in the Netherlands) from late 80s early 90s called Classic Albums. Each episode covers one rock album - Pet Sounds, Nevermind, Rumours, etc. etc. and they interview everyone involved in creating said album. Lots of cool behind-the-scenes moments, inspiration for riffs/lyrics, band drama etc. etc.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

I haven't seen The Boys, but several of my friends have and rave about it.

The only show I regularly watch on Prime is Rings of Power.
