thanks to ainge, this offseason is so crazy with 1st round picks its hard to pin point their value

I really think this idea is being overblown.

Ainge had 2 all stars that both had multiple years left on their contract. Neither one was pushing for a trade and Ainge wasn't in a position where everybody knew he had to trade them.

Most of the time all-stars are traded under much different circumstances. If Ainge was that far off with his asking price he wouldn't have found 2 teams willing to deal with him.

If both of these players stay healthy, it's very possible DA will only get a handful of late 1sts out it. Even if he gets a high pick or 2, it doesn't guarantee he won't miss on his pick.

Regardless of people already declaring Ainge the uncontested winner, it's very possible he ends up losing both trades.

Agreed. This has been the going rate for stars for some time.

Gobert is an all-NBA and DPOY level player on a long contract.
Mitchell has an offensive game that appears to be potent in the playoffs. He's All-NBA borderline - getting votes each year. And he's young.

Davis got way more than either and he was on an expiring deal.
Jrue was always under-appreciated until he was able to shine on the Bucks and the bucks tricked the Pels with the uncertainty of Giannis not signing. That upside of the Bucks wasn't as good as it seemed prior to the deal and that's why Bucks got such a good deal.

Jeanie was super careful when Phil asked her out to report up the chain of command that they were dating prior to their relationship. She mentions this in several interviews. They weren't having a sexual relationship in secret.

I really don't understand why you would suspend a coach for an entire season, just fire him. By suspending him one season the team has to adjust to a new coach in year 1, then adjust back to the old coach again in year 2. That seems like too big of a distraction.

Agreed. Seems like it has to be an issue of a direct report (and just how consensual can a direct report situation be if one controls the professional future of the other?), but probably also some sort of hiding it or lying to the team when they asked about it? Maybe something else, but here has to be more (that will eventually come out) for it to be a full season.

I need more details but I'll assume the Celtics have a pretty clear HR policy on these matters and so regardless of the nature of the relationship I'd be surprised to think Udoka is being treated unfairly. Especially since the team has a lot invested in him and he coached them to the Finals last year.

I get some just want to take their personal views and run with their preferred narrative but I'd caution that. Especially when it flies in the face of common sense.

It's unlikely that there's a corporate policy that spells out something like a season-long suspension, because a season-long suspension would really only be the punishment that you could use on, like, three people in the entire organization-- did something serious enough that they need to take such a long break, but also valuable enough to stay affiliated with the team.

They might as well prepare to trade both Lebron and AD next Summer. They have no assets to trade and they will only 25-30 million dollars in cap space next summer, which won't be enough to fill in their roster. It's time for that front Office to accept reality and move on from Lebron/AD experiment in the next off season.
