They were having a hard time scoring closing this one out. Cade kept trying to takeover but couldn't hit at the rim.

Gonna have to clean some things up against better talent but yeah they weren't really giving up anything on the other end either.

He must be damn good to be in their heads like that. Going to be a long 82 game season, but damn we got some great young players other fanbases wish they had.

Also, Bogdan was such a great trade. My God. We gave up nothing for him and he immediately steps in and goes 6/10 from 3.
Cade is a different type of player. He is team first, all the way. He understands game management, and game flow. He easily racked up 10 assists, and trusted his teammate to ice the game last night, knowing how hard Stewart has worked on that very shot.

That is leadership, through, and through. The way he managed the game, and played, reminded me of another player I have never compared him to, and that is Chris Paul. I know it sounds odd, but the parallels are there.

True floor leadership is insanely difficult to come by in the NBA.
Meh how he started and lead the team with his lazy play wasn't impressive. Felt like the bench with Joseph and Killian (Duren too) set the pace for the game and the starters followed.

Cade talked about how he lets the game come to him, and that he needed time to figure out the new players, and how they fit in around him.

What you see as "lazy play", he describes as learning, and not rushing anything, and I absolutely see that.

His game leadership after a sloppy start, was on point.

What i like about this team is you dont have to change strategy for the second unit. All four guards can penetrate and look to find spot up shooters or post options.

As long as there remains quality movement away from the ball open shots will be there.

The good news is this team does not have to rely on one or two guys to take them. This could also help tire out our opponents stars who are carrying too much of the load.

It reminds me some of the Hawks team a few years ago when Trey Young got drafted

We won with Burkes, Livers, Bagley all sidelined.
Before the 80+ game marathon season is through we will need contributions from everyone of our 10-12 rotation type players.

Thrilling to see this first game after a thoroughly depressing preseason.
I have the faintest of hopes, im listening closely for the heartbeat of competitor's and winners.

Good breakdown of Ivey’s defense. Really encouraging. Definitely saw him as a negative on D as a rookie. I was already really high on Ivey, but if he becomes a plus defender too, look out.

So far Ivey is a much better shooter and defender than I was expecting and a just slightly worse finisher.
