Sure Spo had a bad coaching game last night, it happens to every coach. That doesn't make him a bum. If you are gonna judge a coach do it by his record in the past couple relative to the talent in the roster. And he has over performed
Now this season looking like a dumpster fire. Not because of coaching but roster construction. They lost a PF they didn't replace and going to the season with only 2 playable wings both who are undersized to play the 4. This is the main issue and Riles is the main culprit. Spo is also to blame as he also takes part in roster decision.
Spo and Riley can be critiqued just like the players can. He’s sucked this season, Riley’s been questionable for years now. We’re not maximizing Jimmys window. The double standards on here are ridiculous
If Jimmy doesn’t go ham in the ECF, it would have looked worse than it did, and as you can see, it is now being exposed.
Spo is one of the luckiest coaches in the NBA thanks to Wade.
First Wade provided the team with LBJ and Bosh, and secondly he was the reason Jimmy even came down. No amount of Spo will ever bring anything worth a dang. He is just not that coach nor personality. Riley on the other hand was the master but got old.
The record is a tale of having some of the greatest players of all times, and sucking big when not. Spo doesn’t make Duncan nor Strus shoot better beyond one year, so it exposes his system. The small ball trajectory is one draining disadvantage if there ever was one. Rebounds are the Heat’s gift to the NBA. Is Spo the worst coach out there? No.
Is he the best? Hell to the no, not without the Goat players he’s had. He actually is beyond mediocre to bad without them.
