He passed up a wide-open 3 to make a risky pass to the rim. Great looking play but the smart decision would have been to take the open 3

I think thats a valid point. But Jokic is also shooting just 21% from 3 this season, and he’s probably the greatest passing big in the history of the game

That's fair obviously the play worked in this case so who cares but if I am a Nuggets fan I want Jokic in the future taking those open looks rather than making a risky pass inside regardless of how great of a passer he is because it's not just about him the other player has to catch that bullet pass then finish in traffic.

Great highlight regardless.

Everyone can do ISO because of the stepack.

Its just a matter of how often can you make that shot and if the defender respect you to make it

And it's also his job to get other guys involved. Whoever scored on that play was probably pretty fired up.

Damn, Andrew Nembhard takes Duarte's minutes in the starting lineup. Loved Nembhard in the draft, but surprised by this especially since he's sharing the court with Haliburton (the bigger and better version of him). Pacers might be the most interesting team to me this year.

Banchero reminds me of Tatum with their projection. I dont see both being this good based on their college numbers.

That Gobert trade looks like the Nets-Boston trade 2.0 right now

The thing with Banchero is that, it's fun to see the big 6'10" dude who is a natural playmaker and scorer put up production.

But once the honeymoon period is over and people start to look at him under the microscope, they're going to see the slow defensive footspeed on the perimeter and they're going to criticize his shooting.

I think he can be what doncic is for the Mavs on defense.

But Banchero’s 3pt shooting is a bit concerning. He’s got good foundation to be a good shooter IMO. But if that shot dont translate, what’s that like? A 6’10 Julius Randle?

Reading at twitter now, seems like people are now concerned with Zion’s 22ppg and low TS%. He could be that guy 2-3 years down the road, without a good 3pt shot.

But boy.. if he develops that 3pt shot he’d be an MVP candidate at some point

Whats worse is I dont think some players on their team are happy with how bad they’re struggling.

Anthony Edwards doesnt seem happy
KAT isn’t happy that Edwards isn’t happy
DLo is not getting re-signed?

Malik Monk playing well for the Kings. His playmaking has been underrated. Reminds me of how Jj played in his last season with the Orlando Magic

Yeah, if Banchero doesn't develop into a good shooter, I see him maxing out as Knicks-era Randle.

Banchero and Mathurin are well ahead of the class in points, but I don't think they've been the best rookies.

I think Tari Eason has been by far the most impactful rookie so far. He's been among the best defenders in the NBA already and his shooting splits are off the charts. Pure idiocy that he isn't playing 30+ mpg for the Rockets.

And in terms of guys playing 20+ mpg roles, your guy Keegan Murray has been most impressive to me. I think he's already establishing good shooting and good shot contesting on defense. He's been a strong two-way contributor for the Kings. The glaring hole is the lack of playmaking.

Yeah, I always thought Monk was a solid C tier passer in the past, but he's been an outright PG for the KIngs and playing really well in that role. I hope his shooting doesn't dip any more than it has. If he can get his three percentage back to 40% while having a 30% plus assist percentage, he'd be an absolute ace offensive piece.

Harrison Barnes is a trade candidate. Another player guys here would want that wont make us any better with rebounding and defense

The thing with Anthony Edwards is that he's just not improving fast enough. Particularly with his playmaking and his defensive consistency.

I don't think there's a single person that would take him over LaMelo Ball or Tyrese Haliburton at this point. Those two are just flatout better and more complete players than him.

And in term of a late riser, Vassell's playmaking improvements have been remarkable. He looks like he's going to put together the shooting/passing/defense puzzle faster than Edwards.

Many might even take Bane and Maxey over him, as well, given their elite shooting and superior playmaking.

What a shocker, I was right about Alperen Sengun and draft Twitter was arrogantly wrong. It was ridiculous watching them tie themselves in knots trying to convince everyone he sucked.

He also has horrible tunnel vision....

There is no justification for him taking 8-9 3s a game, his shot isn't improving enough to make up for that level of volume, and as a result he's still a below average efficiency player. It's Josh Smith all over again

Now Jabari has to figure out how to be a rim protector and stretch 4 in the NBA and their front court is set for 10+ years.

The huge red flag for Anthony Edwards imo is that he looks hopeless trying to run a PnR. He doesn’t know how to create or attack space, he’s incredibly indecisive, and his passing vision is nonexistent. I really don’t like where he and the Wolves are trending.

The Gobert trade was so stupid it’s hard to wrap your head around.
