Championship Lakers

Non-star starters: KCP, Green, Dwight
Rotation Player (6-8th Men): Rondo, Caruso, Kuzma
9-11th Men (RS rotation 20+ mins, playoff spot minutes): Markieff, McGee, Bradley
2022-23 Lakers
Stars: James, AD
Non-star starters: Nothing
Rotation Player (6-8th Men): Russ, Reaves, Beverley
9-11th Men (RS rotation 20+ mins, playoff spot minutes): Walker, Schroeder, Bryant
Lakers have no starter-level players outside of LeBron and Davis. They need at least 3. This isn't just about fit, it's about having consistent quality level players to turn up and get wins when others are out.
Easiest way is to break Russ in to 3 starters with picks and then hoping Schroeder or Lonnie or Bryant step in to rotation level...
Hard way might be to get starter level players using Nunn, Lonnie, Beverley as salary matches.
This is spot on and i really dont see why they aren't doing something to address those needs.
Most of the proposed deals (i.e. Buddy+Turner, Poeltl+Richardson+Buckets, Hornets/Utah-deals) would all solve most of our issues immediately. If they dont do anything i think Lebron or AD might just start demanding a trade.
**** those picks down the road. You can always plan your way out of it by then.

There is marked difference between having Green, KCP, Caruso and even Bradley and rumored trade assets that they might be able to acquire. Those 2020 role players can BOTH DEFEND and SHOOT unlike Hield whose defense is suspect, same with Buckets. Richardson can but is a streaky shooter. One year he'll shoot great, then lay an egg just like in Dallas and with the Sixers.
Having said that, I still hope they can try to find shooters who can defend, Maybe Ham can mask Hield's deficiencies in defense etc.

I'm not sure i agree with that. No doubt Green, KCP and Caruso would have been awesome to have, but these proposed trade-ideas are pretty solid as well.
Myles Turner and Anthony Davis would be insanely good defensively and the back-court has been ok. Also, Buddy would shoot 10 3s per game.
Poeltl would help in the middle, and while Buckets is a traffic cone, he'll make it up with his shooting. And Josh is solid both ways.
The same thing goes for the Utah and CHarlotte deals.
That said, it is kinda depressing to think about the players we could have had if Jeanie wasn't such a halfwit.
Danny Green was flipped for Schroeder. Caruso walked for nothing. Kuz, KCP and Harrell was moved for Westbrook. Also, New Orleans never really wanted Lonzo in the first place (traded him for **** Garret Temple and Satoransky), so if they had done their jobs just a little better we might have had Lonzo as well. And the MLE and a pick.
