He is 6'6, athletic, can shoot pull-up 3s from deep, defend 1-4, and can drive in transition well. Hard to get a read on his playmaking because Texas Tech was a weird system, but Illy is letting him show his skills.
It is early, but he has a BPM of 17, 2.6 block% and 2.1 steal% which are elite for any player. He will be 23 next summer, but I expect him and Coleman Hawkins will get more national attention this year and Shannon will get some draft love.
I'm with you. Really good fit for us, he might have even cracked this year's rotation as a backup 2 guard. Masai hasn't tended to take low upside 3 and D guys (cost us with Bane) but a guy who can play our style of D from the 2 guard spot while hitting 3s seems like a pretty good result from the #20 pick.
