Want their clout and their bag. Gary Neville got roasted by Ian Hislop on Have I Got News For You for his hypocrisy over the tournament, and Neville didn't really have an answer. It's cognitive dissonance in the purest sense.

To be honest I’m still watching it, I’m not going to act like I like what’s happening in Qatar. However i consume so many things that hasn’t got the best ethics and this is no different in my opinion.

The interest level seems to be the lowest of any WC that I can recall. Fwiw the games will be played in the early mornings here in the States. So that obviously won't help ratings.

Definitely! I remember that clip actually and it made me laugh. I still maintain that this energy towards Qatar should be to FIFA, we all know that most Middle Eastern countries don’t have the same views as western countries, so they should’ve had that in mind if they wanted a 'moral' World Cup.

Personally I don't have a problem with broadcasters who are being paid to report the cup being there and reporting it, as long as they make it clear that they disagree (if they do) with some of the Qatar positions. If the companies are paying the Qataris to be there then I don't agree with them only their employees.
As long as you get to see the matches then I don't see why it should worry you about them "slating" the hosts. It would be hypocrisy if they didn't make people aware of the situation. So the opening ceremony was on the red button - so you could watch it, couldn't you?
Football isn't more important than human rights and this world cup has been made into a human rights issue. I didn't watch and haven't read anything about the match yet - I will do, at some time. When I do I'll be thinking of those indentured workers and their mates who died building the stadiums for this competition.
