Should have held on to Bassey until the deadline. I just don’t understand that decision. Next injury is Tucker if Doc keeps overplaying him. Need to punt these games if it looks ugly first quarter. This sucks, I hate injuries.

If Tucker goes down, thats when we make a run until the end of the season and Doc will win COY

The one silver lining to all of these injuries is that it will allow Tobias (assuming he returns tomorrow) to be the man for at least the next few games which will hopefully inflate his numbers and boost his trade value a bit.

Perfect timing with John Collins looking like in self destruct mode.

Lol teams know who Tobias is by now. Tobias value will be much higher next season and that's when we should strike

If we wait until next season to trade him though, it will be another year of Embiid and Harden's prime wasted. And by then Harden will likely walk and Embiid demand a trade in the offseason putting us back to square one.
Is it worth potentially risking that scenario simply to extract max value for Tobias? Not saying trade him for peanuts, but even if we end up taking back one or more longer contracts for better fitting pieces (i.e. a 3 and D forward and a true backup PG), I'd say that's a win for us.

I feel like Doc might take a load management game at this point.

Would would you have cut instead? I'm guessing Springer?

This would be a good time for a Korklord game. He's been playing basically zero, but he's still the same streaky player. And at 25, he should be statistically at his peak. We're going to need some high variance going our direction to win. Can't get much more high variance than Furkan Korkmaz. Play him 30 minutes.

DEFINITELY SPRINGER. I’d even prefer Isaiah Joe than him.

Key match-ups of the game
Korklord vs Durant.
Julian Champagnie vs Ben Simmons

I really don't know what we have in Springer, but he's young enough that he could still be great. That said - it's hard to think his potential was more important than having Bassey as another backup at center. Especially when Bassey dominated the G-league the way he did.

Korkmaz wins 1 out 6 of those. Or 1 out of 8 or 10. Hard to say. He's high variance, so it changes.
Seriously, though, where else is the offense coming from? It's not often, but he's shown the ability to be a high volume scorer at times.

Any chance Michael “Banchero’s Daddy” Foster Jr. will play this game?

Korkmaz-Melton-Milton-Tobias dribble drive
Tobias-Harrell iso on mismatch created by dribble drive
Niang hail marys and attacking closeouts

Re: Gm 17: Nets (8-9) @ 76ers (8-8) Tue 11/22 7:30 PM
Looks like Korkmaz is hurt, too, anyway. Didn't realize that. He hardly played anyway.
That's based on the basketball-reference Injury Report. It doesn't list Springer, but if he's hurt, too, and all the day-to-day players are still out then that's 6.
If we really do have 6 injured players, we should have all 10 players available on the bench. And this is our depth chart:
PG Milton / (Melton)
SG Melton / House
SF Thybulle / (House) / (Niang) / Champagnie
PF Tucker / Niang / Foster
C Harrell / Reed
Minutes-wise, it will probably look like if we're down 6 players:
Milton 32 / Melton 16
Melton 20 / House 28
Thybulle 24 / Niang 18 / House 6
Tucker 34 / Niang 14
Harrell 28 / Reed 20
Still no court-time for the 2-way players.
Unrelated... we only have 16 players. Aren't rosters still 15 + 2 two-way players? If so, that means we cut Bassey purely for financial reasons. We didn't even use that roster spot.

We didn’t have to cut anyone. We have 14 on the roster right now. Could have kept one of either Bassey or Isiah Joe, instead waived both.

Melton
Tobias
Tucker
Reed or Harrell

Only four teams are in the top 10 in both offensive and defensive efficiency this season
Suns (3, 8)
Pelicans (4, 5)
Cavs (5, 3)
and…
the Brooklyn Nets (8, 10)
