How do we make that happen? Also remember Turner is a free agent and has said he wants the money, so expect to pay him at least 25 mil a year, 30 mil might be a more realistic number.

Picks and salary, I’ll take my chances on turner. He’s not getting that in the open market

So I take it you mean Duncan![]()
The cap is going up and multiple teams will have cap space, someone always over pays. We had people here that swore Herro would sign for at the max 20 mil, he signed for 30. Never underestimate players getting paid when multiple teams have cap space.

LAKERS:

SF - Hayward / Walker
PF - James / Brown Jr / Toscano-Anderson / Gabriel
C - Davis / Bryant / Jones
WHY?
For the Heat, we get an ideal longer term PF to pair with Herro and Adebayo as the bridge to the next generation. Washington provides the floor spacing (1.9 / 5.6 = 35%), build, length and defensive acumen we desire in a switching 4 in Spo's system. Plumlee gives us a capable veteran backup 5 that can also start if injuries hit. Averaging 9pts, 9rebs and 4ast for the Hornets this year, he's a low key good passing big who is also solid defensively and on the glass. Beverley has been pretty awful so far this year, but can provide a spark, be a defensive pest and solidify the bench for us. We do lose our key shooters though, in Strus and Duncan, and a valuable trade piece in our FRP. Also lose Yurt, but unsure of his long term fit here. We'd need to go shopping for a plug and play shooter at some stage.
For the Hornets, they shed salary and commit fully to the rebuild via the Draft. Robinson's deal is long, but sheds salary off the Rozier deal and they acquire valuable picks in the process. Opportunity to give bigger roles to guys like Richards and McDaniels, who have shown a bit this season. Westbrook they can either buy out and save cash, or hold and see if he can provide any form of value for the bench unit going forward.
For the Lakers, last roll of the dice. Top up on talent by bringing in Rozier and Hayward, two guys who lift the teams ceiling. They also get a valuable shooter in Strus who should get plenty of space playing alongside Bron and AD. Lose a pick, but gain a fair bit of talent. Deal may be too Lakers positive on review, perhaps another pick needed to go Charlotte's way.

IceColdCubano wrote:Sweet and Sour Sauces for my folks, got some juicy insider news:
Miami has began to reach out to teams in regards to a few candidates for trades to upgrade their PF spot in the last week or so. Its only been inquiring as of late trying to feel out the market, draft compensation is a necessity at this point in anything involving Duncan. As a few of the players of their interest currently in discussion is Marvin Bagley III from the Pistons was thrown into the ring from the Pistons themselves, The pistons are keen on the trade but want FRP's at least 2 of them for Marvin and some additional 2nd rounders. Recently traded from the Kings to the Pistons earlier this year, it seems they are heading a different direction. From the conversations had with the Pistons it sounds like their direction for their rebuild is heading in a new direction per their GM. However Marvin may be a long shot since there are still a few executives that are not sold on going all in on this season by giving up premium draft compensation liek 2 FRP's for a young but unproven PF in Bagley. Miami may need to find a third team that can help as Detroit is not interest in taking back Duncan's salary.

This looks like a straight up fair deal. Bagley’s contract basically runs concurrent with Robinson’s. Detroit gets compensated with the 2 1st. Vincent is tossed in as an added sweetener. Joseph reunites with Lowry. Deal saves us 1 million this year to fill the final roster spot and an additional 7 mil next year. We can bring Dru Smith up and develop him to be the next Gabe behind Joseph.
