Health is big for Brooklyn, Ty Lawson just got back, Yuta is playing games again, Joe Harris is finally on the floor and making shots Big Ben is getting there. But there's one x-factor that stops me from saying they're back...and it's the fact that headcase Kyrie Irving is their second best player. I just don't trust him and because of that I don't trust the Nets.

getting rid of Steve Nash was the most important thing. Whether you think he was a good coach or not(I don't) he lost the team a year ago. They were not listening to him, and not willing to play hard for him, and you can see that in defense. Vaughn is not a great coach, but the players at least care about defense now. Nash was a dead man walking as soon as Durant asked for him to be fired. It was KD or Nash at that point.

Yeah, it's very much this, Nash lost the locker room and admitted that the team had stopped listening to him. I don't even think Vaughn is a better coach than Nash, but he has the buy-in from the players, and the team is doing much better (with big help from scheduling & playing bad/injured teams). What picc is saying also plays a big part, the roster is finally available/healthy too.

Vaughn is definitely better than Nash especially in in-game adjustment. I don't see Nash could implement a zone defense at half time just like what Vaughn did against the Pacers.

Nash ran zone plenty of times in-game, and you guys do realize that Vaughn was Nash's defensive assistant the entire time, right?

defensively they wont get far if they make playoffs which they should. Offensively they are hot right now.

Since Nash was fired they have the 6th best defensive rating in the league…. Their D is better what the narrative is on them

To clarify, I'm talking about Vaughn purposely not running zone in first half then running it right at the start of second half. So Carlisle didn't have time to adjust during the halftime break.

In addition making players buying in is part of coaching. At the end Nash failed at that. So far Vaughn hasn't. It's even funny when you consider that Nash is supposed to be the player's coach.

Coaching was definitely the problem before but I don't think it's a matter of Nash Vs Vaughn. It's more of the team accepting to be coached in the first place. It looks like KI/KD took back the "we dont need a coach" BS and as a result the team is now playing more structured basketball. As opposed to the pickup style my turn - your turn they were playing last year (which the Celtics wiped their butt with).
