Jonathan Isaac's future with this team?

I definitely agree with the masses here that this situation with Issac is definitely odd. 3 years for a recovery is pretty unheard of. I suspect several things are at play here, and they all have to do with the Magic’s backcourt. I think the Magic plan to fill the their backcourt at the draft and having Issac even a little bit represents a big enough talent infusion to knock this team out of the top 5. So if we see him at all it’ll be minimal.

He's been practicing with the team and in Lakeland for awhile now. We're down half the team to suspensions. Assuming he doesn't play Wednesday, I'm not sure he ever does again. If he's not ready for 10 minutes during this... something is wrong. I hope I'm wrong because I genuinely enjoy watching Isaac play, but he's either ready or he's never going to be.

No one said right away... at least I didn't. But the point is... we never saw what Isaac could become because of his injuries. and if the max potential is what we saw in the bubble.... then He is worth at LEAST waiting to see how he does after investing time and patience with him. And you might be right... he doesn't come back and his career is over. But to me... as a fan... you hope that he comes back at his best because that is what all of this preparation is for... while knowing the reality of what the results could be.

Well I know the circumstance is different.. but I knew a guy in high school who stopped playing basketball to concentrate on soccer/football due to more chance for a college scholarship. When he played basketball again, he was just as good. lol

If and when he comes back healthy it's going to be really hard for anyone to offer him a huge contract after the current one expires. Maybe a bunch of suspensions from a bench clearing brawl leaving us shorthanded in the near future could be enough for JI to finally return even on a minutes restriction

When you've got two other frontcourt players averaging 20ppg and playing good enough defense, that's a nice fit - especially if sprinkled with steals, blocks, deflections, and general disruption. Pair that with 3 guards who can score 40 collectively and you've got something. Ideally, the next move is for a Lead Guard, next to defensive-minded Suggs, who can score 20 as well.

I'm rooting for him, I think he should be back to that player that he was... He's still in his prime.... Klay missed 2 years of basketball... It took a little minute but I believe he just dropped 54 a day ago.... I don't think he going to look like he lost a step
